Re: Virus Software

MS Security Esentials or Windows Defender that comes with Windows 10 works
just fine with JAWS. While the scan is running, you will need to use the
JAWS curser to read the status of the scan. Just make sure to keep up with
the definitions updates.

ExCell will not read current cell
Rick Mladek
Hi all,
Just noticed that when in Microsoft ExCell, as I add information into a cell, then try to read what I have entered, Jaws not reading. If I attempt to back-space to delete what I know I’ve entered incorrectly, again, Jaws will not read what is being deleted. Any fixes out there with Windows 10, Office 2010 and latest Jaws 2019 version/update? If I move out of the cell and then back into the cell at question, it will then read and only at this time.
Sorry if I am repeating any problems previously submitted…
Rick

It’s really strange, because under sound card in the Jaws utilities menu, I have two selections—default sound card, and realtech sound card. I can check or un-check either of them, and the change makes no difference.
I think I’m going to call Freedom Scientific and perhaps the Microsoft Accessibility Hotline about this tomorrow.
In my view, this is an issue that both FS and Microsoft need to be aware of, and I have a hard time believing I’m the only one experiencing it.
Again, the problem recurred after a documented Windows 10 sound driver update yesterday evening.

Hi Tom,
In this case the default soundcard and the Realtech soundcard are 1 in the same since the Realtech is your only soundcard and set as the default, from what I'm understanding anyways.
