Re: Jaws 2019 announcing cropped text in Excel 2016

When you get into quick settings there is a search box. I can never remember the exact wording, so I type "vis" into the search box, and the only result is cell text visibility.

Arrowing through the choices, it is under
\Excel Settings\Workbook, Worksheet and Region Settings

Hi Randy and Mohith

Thanks for offering to take a look at the page/links for me,  that’s very kind and much appreciated. However, the webpage isn’t live yet so I can’t share it, but I’ve also found some other accessibility  issues with the theme I am using , due to this and combined with the link issues I mentioned earlier, I have decided to use a different theme .

Again though a huge thanks for the offers of help

Re: Outlook Issue Suddenly Cropping Up

Michael Mote

Have you checked in your Outlook settings to make sure that Outlook is set to play a sound when an email arrives? I wonder if the Outlook volume is muted for some reason in your volume mixer.  You would need to check that once Outlook is open.

Also, you may want to check in the Windows 10 notifications and see if you are set up to receive incoming notifications.  Just type notifications in the search box on your Windows 10 computer.  Maybe one of these will help you get your sound back.

Hi all.

This doesn’t affect JAWS directly, but I was hoping some of you may have had the same issue and have worked around it.

I had to reinstall Windows 10 on Sunday because it decided it would crash my laptop.

Outlook 2016 is no longer playing a sound when I receive mail. I have checked Outlook sound options, Windows sound options, and I even made sure Outlook was the default program for mail in case that was an issue. I’ve even Googled to an extent, but nothing I’ve done has fixed this problem.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

jaws reading junk

Juan Hernandez

Hi All,

I have noticed for a while now probably since the march jaws 2019 update came out that jaws has been reading letters after the line of text for example,

Screen readers require that… scr scr scr

As you can see its repeting the first few letters after the line of text.  This happens in the podcast notification in jaws the summery read only text box, it happens in tw blue in various dialogs etc.

Has anyone encountered this?

Best,

Juan

Two questions about accessing graphs/charts and or accessible price monitoring plugin

Cristóbal

Hello list,

Two questions related to the same topic. Does anyone know of an accessible price tracking plug in be it for Chrome or Firefox? I’ve tried CamelCamelCamel and the Honey app and while CamelCamelCamel can give the highest and lowest price for an item in a table format, there doesn’t seem to be info on actual price fluctuations. There does appear to be a graph, but nothing Jaws can read. The Honey app straight up just presents price history as a graph that Jaws doesn’t even appear to access.

The second part to my question, is there in fact a way to access these online graphs/charts with a screen reader and somehow convert them to a table quick and easy?

Things like thermoform paper and those types of accessible tools are overkill when all you want is to check the trend on a particular item and move on.

Using the latest JFW 2019. I also use NVDA from time to time if that matters, but my main screen reader is Jaws.

Thanks,

There is supposed to be, with  ESPN trying to help, , a header named
Players, and under it, is a list of 6 or 7 items and one of them is
"Undroppable".

I, and some other blind fantasy players, sure cannot find it.

My sighted friend said the same thing, that it is Under the Players

If anybody can help, sure would appreciate it. This is not a world
