Re: Hello All I need help on m.facebook.com jaws 2018

Hello.
In m.facebook.com, you will want to activate the link for the photo, and then, “view full size”. This will open a tab displaying the full image, which you can then save to your machine. So, once the tab is open (you’ll know this because your screen-reader will just say “graphic” and probably a bunch of numbers), then you can press the applications key and select “save image”.

Sieghard,
I want to thank you so much for this suggestion. I began struggling with this a couple of days ago and couldn’t figure out what was causing the problem. I remember doing this in the past, but it has been a long time since I’ve had to change this setting.
Thank you again. Paul.

If you are using Adobe Acrobat Reader do the following:
1. Go to Edit > Preferences, the keyboard shortcut is Control + K 2. In the categories list arrow down to Security (Enhanced) or you can also press “S” 3 times to get there 3. Tab once and you hear “Enable Protected Mode at startup”, if it says this is checked press the spacebar to uncheck it. You will get the following message/prompt: Adobe Acrobat Reader dialog For changes to take effect, you need to manually restart the application. Are you sure you want to continue? 4. Re: Jaws 2019 not giving background color in Excel 2016 or 2019

I do not have a sheet with conditional formatting, but I did just fill a cell with red. You are not the first person I’ve heard say there was an issue with JAWS reporting the background color in Excel. I’m still on JAWS 2019 1810 here at work and it seems to be working correctly on this version. Not sure which update broke this function.

Hi everyone,
I am trying to use Conditional formatting in both Excel 2016 and 2019. I choose to use a formula to decide which cells are formatted, choose cells in sheet 1 that do not equal cells in sheet 2, and choose to fill the cells matching the criteria with a red background fill. The conditional formatting is working, but using Jaws 2019, I have no way of knowing whether or not it is working, because Jaws reads “text color black, background color white” when I press Insert + F, and “Black on white” when I press Insert + 5 on cells that have different values. If I load NVDA and press Insert+ F on these cells, NVDA says “black on bright red background”.
Has anyone else noticed this? I am getting so frustrated with Jaws not being able to do basic things like this when a free screen reader like NVDA is able to do it with no problem!
Thanks for any feedback.

Hello Kevin
I don’t know about converting A PDF document. However, can you check for me and see if jaws says, “empty document. “ of course, this is when you either up or down arrow through the document. If jaws says, “empty document, “but A cited helper knows there is something on your screen come The document could a scanned image. When pDFs are like this, you can usually press this hotkey. The insert key on your number pad (if you have a regular desktop sized keyboard) and the Space bar is a layered command in jaws. Press these two keys followed by the letter O to get to OCR.You are still not done. Press the D for a document. The screen reader will say, “OCR started. “It might take a while, but your document should come up, reading as if it were in word. Then, you can read through it, select it and pasted into another program such as words, of course after copying, or just hit the escape key. after you are done reading your OCR results, press escape Key. I hope this helps, and sorry for any miss spellings. Other than my instructions, I do not know how to help. Sorry about that. Thank you for your question, and I would be glad to help again if you need it, Ashleigh S Piccinino
