Hi.
At places I have worked, the service desk uses Team Viewer to get things done remotely on a person’s computer. If it’s loading every time at startup, it’s probably something a remote user set and forgot to turn off. Let’s say someone from service desk wanted to manually install a package on your machine; that often requires a restart (sometimes two) and they would want to have the Teamviewer come up when the system restarts.

Re: zipping files
Curtis Delzer
7 zip, all the way, it's free, and you can use even a better archiver than standard *.zip and that is 7z for smaller files.
there are 64 bit and 32 bit versions.

Re: zipping files

Windows 10 can natively work with zip files; you don’t really need any extra programmes, though some can give you more versatile options and so you still might want one.
I have a lot of archive related options in my context menus, but it seems that most of them come from winrar, which I have installed. Looking at a Microsoft page now, it seems that the best way to natively zip something is to use the “send to” submenu and select “compressed zip folder”. Maybe look around in your context menu and see what options you have. Since you have Winzip installed, you might have something there that will suit your needs. I believe someone also suggested 7zip; pretty sure that’s still around and used more widely than Winzip nowadays, so you could probably install and use that.
Again though, Windows 10 has basic zip/archiving features built in.

I tried to use winzip to zip some files. I use to be able to use winzip with windows 7 and for some reason it is no longer working. I’m using Windows 10 and Jaws 2018. Is there something I need to setup on Jaws or is there another zip program that works with Jaws? Thanks, Kevin

Richard Turner
Select your files, do the right click with the applications key or shift-f10 and arrow to the send to item, right arrow, and arrow down to compressed zip file and hit enter.
Note, the zip file will use one of the file names and put it in that folder.
Rename it if you like and move it wherever you want it.

JAWS office 365 chrome need help for navigation
Sharon Ballantyne
I use windows 10 and the latest version of JAWS 2019. I have used office 365 for over a year, downloaded on my laptop. It has a work email on it. I have just accepted a faculty position to teach a summer course for the summer term and the university also uses office 365. I can log in using google chrome browser but the outlook through the university office 365 does not respond to keyboard commands for control n for new message and I am needing to tab everywhere to try to figure things out. Can I reset something to make keyboard commands work? Thank-you for any advice.

Make sure the keys are not stuck. Use compressed air to blow out the keys. Laptops seem to get stuck as they are often exposed to lots of different places.

You can try Seven Zip instead. Enable
context menus and you can right click the folder and zip it. Or
highlight all the files and right click them also..

Hi,

Not that I am aware. You could take the OCR from the JAWS viewer , paste into a Word document and then print but there would be no formatting or the like. Also, does your scanner have a copy or save to pdf function? If so, JAWS may be able to read the controls for the scanner software and thus copy without the use of OpenBook. With the advent of Microsoft's Seeing AI and K NFB reder and advances in JAWS OpenBook may indeed be on the way out. I do wish they would try an update however as it has ben years. Dan

Smack both shift keys several times, but not too many to bring on stickey keys dialog. This is a problem that used to happen all the time with certain keyboard controllers chips. Usually reboot is not necessary.
