Re: indeed.com inability to use website
No guarantee that the touch cursor will work. as for navigating with the touch cursor you need to use the 4 pack of arrows not the number pad arrows. You should hear a tone with each key press if there isn't anything under the cursor and a description if there is something there.

Leaving a review on Home Advisor
The Iowa Gal <iowagal728@...>
Hi group,
If anyone has successfully completed the form on Home Advisor to review a pro, I'd love to know how you did it. I'm using latest Jaws on Win 10 with I.E., Firefox, Chrome and Brave. Using the touch cursor with Jaws and I.E. seemed ok, but I'm having difficulty moving around the form fields. Alternatively, if anyone has used the Android app to complete the review process, please let me know, as I can go that way, as well.
Thanks, Norma

The extension cable is to cut down on the interference from the

Hi,
I thought it would be OK to post a brief
review here on the Logitech G613 wireless mechanical gaming
keyboard since just as myself I assume others also are
always looking for the “perfect” keyboard.
This Logitech G613 “Lightspeed” wireless
mechanical gaming keyboard can connect to iOS via Bluetooth
and to a PC using the supplied USB receiver which then let’s
you take advantage of the “Lightspeed” 1 millisecond delay
which is pretty impressive (if you connect to a PC with
Bluetooth this does not apply and while it’s probably still
just as good as any other Bluetooth keyboard, it sort of
makes sense to make the most of this keyboard’s features).
I still use my trusty Logitech K780 at
home where I have it connected to my laptop via Bluetooth as
well as to my iPhone and Apple TV, but I bought the G613 for
my main PC at work and I must say so far it’s getting pretty
close to that perfect score.
Unlike most wired mechanical gaming
keyboards this does not have all the fancy RGB lighting
options which of course is fine for me. The one thing I am
not super fond of are the 6 F1 through fF6 function keys in
a vertical column down the left side of the keyboard with
maybe half an inch of space between them and the left most
keys like Control, Shift, Caps Lock, Tab, ` and Escape. But
I also bought a wired Logitech mechanical keyboard and it
also has them, most mechanical keyboards are designed for
gamers rather than people who want a mechanical keyboard for
typing. It takes a bit of getting used to not accidently
pressing them. gamers can configure these keys as macro keys
to perform whatever actions gamers want.
Apart from that the keyboard has a very
traditional layout with nice spaces between the blocks of
function keys, the inverted cursor T, the 6-pack with
Insert/Delete, Page Up/Down and Home/End, of course the
number pad and above that it has 4 more slightly lower media
keys for Play/Pause, Stop, Rewind and Forward.
At the very top is a slider switch which
locks the Windows key which apparently gamers like so they
don’t accidently press it and Cortana/the search box pops
up, then there are two buttons which switch between the USB
Lightspeed connection and the Bluetooth connection and once
the Bluetooth connection to the iPhone has been established
all it takes is to press the Bluetooth button in order to
switch to the phone and the USB button to switch back.
On the very top right is a large key
which is a volume rocker, press the left side for down and
the right side for up and beside that is a Mute button.
Finally on the right side towards the back is a on/off
slider switch.
The keyboard runs on 2 AA batteries and
is supposed to give you 18 month of battery life.
There is a proper application key on the
right side of the spacebar which works, but there is no
Windows key on the right side which is something you don’t
hardly see any more.
Logitech uses their own Romer-G switches
and not Cherry MXswitches. The Romer-G are most like Cherry
Brown, a nice distance of travel, but not hard to press and
relatively quiet for mechanical keys.
They do take a bit of getting used to,
but I quite like them. For those who want to read more about
them, below is a link to a review from Tom’s Hardware:
Logitech’s Romer-G Switches – Are
they any good?
The other nice thing about this keyboard
is it’s relatively reasonable price, I paid $129.99 Canadian
for it, believe I read that on a good deal you can pick it
up in the US for as low as $70 US.
Wireless mechanical keyboards are not out
there too much yet, I did find a couple more made by the
company “Das Keyboard” but they are more expensive although
I may order them from Amazon to test and if I don’t like
them at least as much or better send them back. My other 2
computers at my store where I have a Logitech MK510 keyboard
and mouse combo both start to show their wear on the
keyboards and I want to see if using mechanical keyboards
won’t change the fact that many of the keyboards which are
mostly out there these days are typically done after 2 or at
most 3 years of heavy use.
As with all mechanical keyboards keep in
mind that the Logitech G613 is heavy compared to other
non-mechanical wireless keyboards.
And one last thing which is nice, this
keyboard has function keys which work as function keys out
of the box and as much as I also like my K780, it’s a bit of
a pain to have to install the not very accessible Logitech
Options software just so you can change the function keys to
behave like function keys instead of media keys.
Happy typing,
Sieghard

Hi,
I am also having this problem, but i'm not sure if it is due to the latest version of Jaws. It also happens with Narrator and NVDA.
I also can't seem to create a shortcut hotkey or at least not the one I want to create. For instance, pressing Alt+Enter to get in to a shortcut properties, then tabbing to the Hotkey field, and when I enter the Hotkey sequence of alt+Shift+Control+f, then Apply it and press Ok. I go back to check and the Hotkey has not been created at all.
I wonder if it is some kind of weird annoying Windows 10 Home security issue that is causing all these problems? I am running latest version of Windows 10 Home.

Greetings,
I have done a clean install of both Jaws 2019, and Jaws 2018 on my Windows home 64 bit dell laptop.
If Jaws 2019 is running, the shortcut keystrokes I have set for my various programs do not work. IE, alt+shift+o for Outlook.
But, if I unload Jaws 2019 and run Jaws 2018 and press alt+shift+o Outlook opens.
These are the latest versions of both Jaws editions.
I obviously like some of the features in Jaws 2019, but will be running Jaws 2018 for the most part unless I can resolve this bloody annoying issue.
Thanks for any thoughts,
Richard

Re: Jaws 2019 blocking desktop shortcut keystrokes
you only need to press the last key in that field. The alt +
ctrl are the default and cant be changed so just pressing F for
example will be alt + ctrl + F

Hi,
I am also having this problem, but i'm not sure if it is due to
the latest version of Jaws. It also happens with Narrator and
NVDA.
I also can't seem to create a shortcut hotkey or at least not
the one I want to create. For instance, pressing Alt+Enter to
get in to a shortcut properties, then tabbing to the Hotkey
field, and when I enter the Hotkey sequence of
alt+Shift+Control+f, then Apply it and press Ok. I go back to
check and the Hotkey has not been created at all.
I wonder if it is some kind of weird annoying Windows 10 Home
security issue that is causing all these problems?
I am running latest version of Windows 10 Home.

You can get a pro license for 3 dollars on eBay. These are
legitimate licenses and I had no issues what so ever with them. If
this fixes your issue that would be worth 3 dollars.

Re: How do I access what JAWS/Narrator says is "new notification"?
Yes, very annoying, Google has started using the alert center to
push ads if you have Chrome installed.
Go to settings center then notifications and turn off anything
you don't want to hear about.

Re: Jaws 2019 blocking desktop shortcut keystrokes
Here at work, my shortcuts are working, including my Internet Explorer shortcut. I’m running the May update on JAWS here on Windows 10. At home I up running the latest JAWS on Windows 10 and have noticed that my Internet Explorer shortcut
wasn’t working , but hadn’t really looked into it. I’ll go run some testing on it tonight. I cannot recall if my other shortcuts are working, largely because those programs just sit open.

Re: can jaws read page numbers using adobe acrobat reader DC?
Hello,
You can read page numbers in two ways. Control Shift N is the Go To command for JAWS with Acrobat Reader. Hit this and you can hear the current page number as well as use it to navigate to other pages.
You can also bring up the status bar by first hitting Insert F4, and then hitting Inserrt Page Down. JAWS will say something like 1/8, indicating that you are on the first of a total of 8 pages. It is only necessary to hit Insert F4 the first time in a given session. Inserrt Page Down by itself will work for accessing it subsequent times during that session.
Regards,
David

Re: can jaws read page numbers using adobe acrobat reader DC?
Hi Marvin,
If you press CTRL + Shift + N, you will be placed in an edit box where you can type a page number, and then press enter to jump to the page number you typed in. Before you type a number though, the number of the page you are currently on will be in the edit field. This is how I check to see what page I am currently on. So, just press CTRL + Shift + N and you will see the page number you are on. Then press escape to close the "Go to page" dialogue box.
Hope this helps.

Panagiotis Antonopoulos
Hi Bill-all, I think this is not right, regarding documents that have come out as .pdfs, saz printed books etc. It maz be though so for scanned documents. I am not insisting on this, but this is mz view. How I got to know this_ I am asked to review a conference volume for a prestigious Greek journal of mz profession. When referring to a new article, I am checking the table of content for the first page and the first page of the following article. A new article usuallz starts in a new page. I discovered a mistake bz one of the authors, so I opened the pdf document and hit the jaws find )jawskezücontrüfÖ. The result came instantlz, I mean the place which I wanted to comment on, and, to mz delight, pagination was also showing. Although I cannot be 1öö% certain of it being the same as with the printed volume, it was certainlz within its table of contents range, and prettz well where it should be. I need to saz that I am not reading for the review the pdf document, but have created a word document for a simple reason. Within pdfs, I have not found a waz of reading notes at their appropriate place, whereas in word, once a footnote is showing, I can immediatelz look at it. Hope all this helps, Greetings from Greece, Takis
