I mean after installing it is there any additional plugins, etc. to install?

I am using windows 10 and jaws versions up through 2020.

Thank you for the info.  Narrator came on but it didn’t help.  When I pressed tab, narrator would say tab and when I pressed up or down arrow it would say up arrow or down arrow.  Jaws won’t speak on that computer and I thought narrator might help me figure out why.  That computer has Windows 7 and Jaws 16.  I guess I’ll have to wait until I have sighted help available to tell me what’s on the screen and get Jaws speaking.

I think it would be easier to press Windows+r, type narrator and press
the enter key. to get rid of Narrator, just press the exit button in the
Narrator window, and then press space bar on the yes button..

in addition to the above, pressing Windows+u and then alt+n started
Narrator, but exiting Narrator still required alt+tabbing to the
Narrator window and pressing space bar on the exit button. and then
pressing space bar on the yes button.

pressing Windows+enter applied to the earlier versions of Windows 10,
and eventually was changed to control+Windows+enter in later versions of
Windows 10 as to expand and improve Narrator's capabilities.

try pressing alt+shift+apostrophe. this works in Excel 2010 and
presumably 2013, 2016 and 2019. but not sure if the keystroke works in
Excel 365.

From: chris judge

You don’t really need an icon for narrator on your desktop, as control windows enter will both stop and start narrator. If you still want to place an icon, here’s how.

To place an icon for narrator on your desktop, do the following.

Press windows R and type:

Shell:appsfolder

Press enter. Find narrator in the list of applications. Press the applications key, or shift f10. Arrow down to open file location and press enter. Press the applications key again and arrow down to send to, sub menu. Press right arrow to open it and arrow down to, desktop create shortcut and press enter.

This will do it.

Control+Windows-key+Enter.

That is the toggle for Narrator, whether you start it from the edit box or if you start and stop it with that keystroke.

Bill,

Thank you for the info.  Narrator came on but it didn’t help.  When I pressed tab, narrator would say tab and when I pressed up or down arrow it would say up arrow or down arrow.  Jaws won’t speak on that computer and I thought narrator might help me figure out why.  That computer has Windows 7 and Jaws 16.  I guess I’ll have to wait until I have sighted help available to tell me what’s on the screen and get Jaws speaking.

Here's how you can put a shortcut icon on your desktop and you could then assign a keystroke to it.

Take care.  Mike.  Sent from my iBarstool.  Go Rams!

hello all,
hope things are well at you.
as the subject line says, can some 1 guide me to read the comments on the excel?
I am using the jaws 2020 with the latest office 365.
when ever the focus moved on the cell which has the comment on the
excel, the jaws just announce that, "has comment, contains comment"
but, I am unable to read the comment given in the cell.

Hi.  The programming list you are looking for is:

program-l@freelists.org

As for Java programming, Eclipse and Android studio seems to be the best so far.

Cheers!

However, what are blind Java developers using?

I apologize if this is off topic. Just looking for accessible IDE's with Jaws.
