Re: email addresses using Outlook 2016

Cristóbal

This is a known bug that is still frustratingly present for some of us Jaws 2019 and Office 2016 users.

Every time a new JFW update comes out, I report it and it’s acknowledged and am told that Vispero’s working on a fix. I think the last message I got that hopefully it would finally be addressed with the next Jaws update was back in March of this year. Who knows.

Anyway, one partial workaround is to execute the alt+K command after typing out a few letters of an email address. You’ll then be taken to a list of emails where you can choose from. This won’t work if you don’t have that particular email saved in your address book though.

Hi,

I use JAWS 2019 and MS 2016 and still get the suggestions when I type the first letter.  Sounds like a setting has changed in your Outlook.  At times my settings have changed  due to updates.

I’m using Outlook 2016 and Jaws 2019. When I was using Jaws 2018 I would create an email. I would be on the to line, type in a character and would get a list of email addresses that begin with that character. Now using jaws 2019 the list doesn’t exist. Is the list in a Jaws file? Thanks, Kevin

Re: email addresses using Outlook 2016

This list is typically built by Outlook, but is built by Outlook as you e-mail individuals.

Did you upgrade your version of Outlook at the same time as you upgraded JAWS?   If so, you may be starting from scratch as far as the remembered e-mail addresses go.

Hi,

Using W10 Jaws latest 2019

Can someone inform me of the command  to have Jaws read out the recent speech  history? i.e. the latest words, phrases, sentences etc

How far back does the speech history go?

Thanks

Hi Tom,

Hold down the Insert key and press the spacebar, let up on both keys and press the letter, H.

Take care.  Mike.  Sent from my iBarstool.  Go Dodgers!

Hi there,
This topic has discussed several times on the list, many people shared the resources and the tutorials. Please check the previous archives of the list for more information.
Also, as for my knowledge, there is no mailing list for discussing specifically on the WordPress with jaws.

Nope, but there's way too many posts covering it on this one. If your question's not there, someone probably has the answer.

SHIFT+TAB takes you to the View By dropdown, which will be in one of three states:  Category, Small Icons, Large Icons.

If it's either one of the "Icons" views it's already in "the classic" look and feel, the only difference being how much screen real estate the individual control panel item icons take up.

Re: Classic Control Panel View - Windows 10

I am presuming you're probably in the Category view of Control Panel, which has been the default for some time now, and wish to change back to either small icons or large icons.   I always use small icons because I like to see all of the control panel items at one time, but with a screen reader it's probably irrelevant since you can search in either the large icons or small icons view to get to a specific item in control panel.

Upon opening Control Panel, a single SHIFT+TAB takes me to the dropdown where you can choose your view:  Category, Small Icons, or Large Icons.  I'd suggest trying that, and giving the small or large icons view a try to see which you prefer.   I personally despise the Category view and always have.  It gets switched the first time I have to use Control Panel on any machine I touch.
