         You must use Advanced find and replace and you must check the checkbox for "Use Wildcards" after hitting the "More" button in the Find & Replace dialog to make that checkbox visible.

More throw? Could you elaborate on what you mean by that? Does that refer to the travel of the keys as some speak of? Is this keyboard also made by Logitech? Does it also make use of a USB receiver type of apparatus and what batteries does it use? Why did you choose to have both of these keyboards? Do you have different use cases for each?

the g-skill, looks a lot like this g613, with the same six keys down the left side, but 2 advantages; (1) you can program the macros yourself, and (2) there are three configurations you can save, e.g. if you've a set of macros in configuration one, and another in two, you save configuration three for the out-of-the-box configuration so you can have a dependable one you are sure of. I have both keyboards the g-skill 2980 and Logitech G613, and both of the setup utilities are not speech friendly except the reset function of the g-skill. I bought this g-skill from Amazon for about $80.

The way you program the macros yourself without sight is to press macro record, the key you wish to use, and then the sequence you want, and then turn macro record off. The only advantage of the software recording the macro is you can make it lightning fast, instead from direct keyboard recording is that the time and rhythms are also recorded, though it begins typing at the instant you touch, not waiting for a moment which you might have used getting your hands ready to record the macro.

This G-skill has very nice switches in it, with more throw as such than the g613, but, again, as in any keyboard, when you switch to it, you immediately get use to it's throw.

But I also bought a wired Logitech mechanical keyboard and it also has them, most mechanical keyboards are designed for gamers rather than people who want a mechanical keyboard for typing. It takes a bit of getting used to not accidently pressing them. gamers can configure these keys as macro keys to perform whatever actions gamers want.

Apart from that the keyboard has a very traditional layout with nice spaces between the blocks of function keys, the inverted cursor T, the 6-pack with Insert/Delete, Page Up/Down and Home/End, of course the number pad and above that it has 4 more slightly lower media keys for Play/Pause, Stop, Rewind and Forward.

At the very top is a slider switch which locks the Windows key which apparently gamers like so they don’t accidently press it and Cortana/the search box pops up, then there are two buttons which switch between the USB Lightspeed connection and the Bluetooth connection and once the Bluetooth connection to the iPhone has been established all it takes is to press the Bluetooth button in order to switch to the phone and the USB button to switch back.

On the very top right is a large key which is a volume rocker, press the left side for down and the right side for up and beside that is a Mute button. Finally on the right side towards the back is a on/off slider switch.

The keyboard runs on 2 AA batteries and is supposed to give you 18 month of battery life.

There is a proper application key on the right side of the spacebar which works, but there is no Windows key on the right side which is something you don’t hardly see any more.

 

Logitech uses their own Romer-G switches and not Cherry MXswitches. The Romer-G are most like Cherry Brown, a nice distance of travel, but not hard to press and relatively quiet for mechanical keys.

They do take a bit of getting used to, but I quite like them. For those who want to read more about them, below is a link to a review from Tom’s Hardware:

The other nice thing about this keyboard is it’s relatively reasonable price, I paid $129.99 Canadian for it, believe I read that on a good deal you can pick it up in the US for as low as $70 US.

Wireless mechanical keyboards are not out there too much yet, I did find a couple more made by the company “Das Keyboard” but they are more expensive although I may order them from Amazon to test and if I don’t like them at least as much or better send them back. My other 2 computers at my store where I have a Logitech MK510 keyboard and mouse combo both start to show their wear on the keyboards and I want to see if using mechanical keyboards won’t change the fact that many of the keyboards which are mostly out there these days are typically done after 2 or at most 3 years of heavy use.

As with all mechanical keyboards keep in mind that the Logitech G613 is heavy compared to other non-mechanical wireless keyboards.

And one last thing which is nice, this keyboard has function keys which work as function keys out of the box and as much as I also like my K780, it’s a bit of a pain to have to install the not very accessible Logitech Options software just so you can change the function keys to behave like function keys instead of media keys.

Hey Net bat I did have the authorization code for jaws in my document ,when the lady from FS technical support got jaws serial number she give me the same authorization code that I have in my document so I went back on jaws2019 then I press on authorization update then paste the authorization code then press enter it's say thank you then finish button

Running Windows 7 & 10, Jaws 16 thru J2019 and Word 2010.  When in either Word or Notepad, I have 10 lines of text that all say the same except for the numbers at the beginning are different.  Examples below:
 
88% of FunTrivia players have answered this question correctly in the past.
 
75% of FunTrivia players have answered this question correctly in the past.
 
91% of FunTrivia players have answered this question correctly in the past.
 
Is there a wildcard symbol that can be used that I can insert in place of the numbers, so when placing the full line of text into the, Find field, then putting nothing into the, Replace field, and choosing, Replace All, all the lines would be removed including the numbers?  All help will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks much.

I suggest you write the Jaws authorization code down somewhere, either in braille if you use braille or take a USB stick or external hard drive and make yourself a simple Notepad file called Authorization and Product Keys and write it in there along with others you come across. This way if you need it again all you have to do it plug in your stick or external USB hard drive, open the file, then copy and paste it into the authorization Window.

I did not know about your sister having purchased the license. Normally you can use your copy of Jaws on a work computer and a home computer. If it is only on your laptop, and desktop, it seems like it should work. If it is on a third machine, then that won't work. The main thing, is that if it is an authorization issue, you should call Freedom Scientific.

The fact that you have JAWS 2018 does not give you the right to JAWS 2019. You have to buy the update if you want to use 2019.

I find it difficult to exactly understand the issue as always, but she says something about having it on her laptop without any issues but that she received a notice to authorize on the desktop.

Even if you have bought Jaws 2019 and you install it on a new computer you still have to authorize it even if you have already authorized it on another computer.

In other words, if it was installed and authorized on a laptop but now you install it on a desktop for the first time then you have to authorize it on the desktop.

I just installed Jaws 2019 on a new computer I bought and I of course had to authorize it. I have my Jaws license key saved in a file on my network along with many other license and product keys so if I have to authorize it I just go to the folder on my NAS, copy the license key and paste it in the authorization Window.

By the way, Richard, I thought you can have Jaws authorized on up to 3 computers.

I get a message saying authorization code  I don’t understand why I have to put authorization code in the box when I have jaws2018  also I have authorization code for jaws in my document  and will not remember all that authorization code in my head to type it in the box . SI’m back on jaws2018 because jaws2019  is on 40 minute mode and don’t like to keep restart the computer.

Does anyone have a good suggestion for me?

I did not know about your sister having purchased the license. Normally you can use your copy of Jaws on a work computer and a home computer. If it is only on your laptop, and desktop, it seems like it should work. If it is on a third machine, then that won't work. The main thing, is that if it is an authorization issue, you should call Freedom Scientific.

Barbara: Are you asking how to put your favorites structure on your desktop?
I think Favorites is stored under c:\users\Barbara or whatever your user
name is on your system. When you're there, just hit f for Favorites, and
send it to the desktop. On the desktop, find Favorites, and create the
shortcut key. Now, you can create folders and subfolders to your heart's
content. I certainly do. Sometimes, you find that a certain favorites should
have been in another folder or subfolder than the one you originally placed
it in.

This works with amy browser, hilight the URL by doing alt-d and ctrl-a and
then copy to the clipboard using ctrl-c. Now go to that favorites folder
and do alt-h-w-s and paste the URL into the edit box, hit next and name the

Hi all,


Does any of you have problems with wrong messages about authorisation when having no access to the internet?


I am working for the police-department in the Netherlands and we work with many secure enviroments and VPN's.

Many ports are blocked so also ports for proxy and sometimes database-connections.


Also i have discovered a crashing JFW-service when doing large jobs in Microsoft Office or performing big Queries using ODB2 tasks.


Messages like restart for 40 minute demo-mode or request for renewel of the SMA are easy solved when i restart Jaws, baut getting very anoying.


I am the only one who have problems with this?

Hello Group,

 

I’m using the latest Win 10 1903 and Jaws 2019.

 

I’m using Picture Smart for only a few weeks and it seems to be available only sometimes.

Is this the nature of the service or am I doing something wrong?

 

I first open and close the file in the photo viewer.

In File Explorer I highlight the file and then I use the layered command followed by “p” and “f”.

Picture Smart is in progress but only sometimes do I get the text caption.

 

I also tried putting the file names in the Picture Smart folder.

I have used both JPG and Bit Map formats.

 

If Picture Smart is not successful the first time, or second etc, it might eventually work.

Most of the time it doesn’t.

 

Is the Picture Smart service unreliable?
