I have had some problems putting individual labels into the correct spot on a partially used label sheet.  Do you have any suggestions for that?

I learned a long time ago after repeated envelope jams in the office laser printer to print on labels instead of envelopes. I prefer the Avery 5160 labels which come 3 to a row with 10 rows for a total of 30 labels on a sheet the same size as an 8 and a half by 11 inch sheet of paper and that can be loaded in a laser printer paper tray. Microsoft Word allows for label printing and you can select the label type and style and either print a full page of the same label or specifically identify what row and column label you are printing and print them individually. The sheet never jams in my black and white laser printer and I remove the printed label from the sheet and stick it on my envelope of choice for mailing. I keep a full sheet of return address labels which I use as needed.

I recommend that those having trouble printing addresses on envelopes give this method a go. It works great with Word 2010.

You are not making any sense.  You cannot print an envelope without some kind of program.  You cannot simply place an envelope in the printer and print an address on it without launching a program like MS Word to print it.  So which program are you using?

First, take out your paper from the printer and place your envelope in it with the flap facing upwards and move the slider across till it touches the edge of the envelope.

Now save the address to your clipboard.

Then press alt m (for mail) and e (for envelope) and the press enter on the first option, which I think is envelopes and copy the address into the edit field.

Then tab down to print.

 

Hopefully the job is doen.

 

But I have to say my Dymo label printer is one of the most useful gadgets I have ever purchased.

For windows 7, control windows u will bring up several choices, and you must alt tab back and forth  to draw attention to speech. Hope this helps.

I don't care what the MS site says.  Windows key-Enter does not toggle Narrator on and off in Windows 7, at least not on my HP desktop.  I don't think there is any way to toggle it on and off in Windows 7 like there is with the  Windows 10 shortcut key  Control-Windows key-Enter.

Sorry, you are right.

Here is what the Microsoft site says:

On a keyboard, press the Windows logo key + Enter.

This will both start and stop narrator.

 

The control key was added in Windows 10.

Control+Windows-key+Enter.

That is the toggle for Narrator, whether you start it from the edit box or if you start and stop it with that keystroke.

Thank you for the info.  Narrator came on but it didn’t help.  When I pressed tab, narrator would say tab and when I pressed up or down arrow it would say up arrow or down arrow.  Jaws won’t speak on that computer and I thought narrator might help me figure out why.  That computer has Windows 7 and Jaws 16.  I guess I’ll have to wait until I have sighted help available to tell me what’s on the screen and get Jaws speaking.

Nope, working fine here.  If you aren't running malware bytes, I'd suggest downloading it and scanning your system.

Is anyone else seeing this behaviour? I can only get the PC cursor on Firefox suddenly so I can’t list links, etc.

           Though I could swear there used to be a way to do this in MS-Office, I can't find it now myself.  However, one can do it in the printer settings for many printers.  When I go to print an envelope, if I open Printer Properties from within the MS-Word print dialog, then go to the Page Setup dialog, there is a checkbox for Rotate 180 degrees, which does just that.  You must also remember to rotate your envelope 180 degrees from normal, too, if you want the flap to be in its usual position at the top when you do this.

            If you have an actual envelope document, you can specify to always use those printer settings for it so that you only have to go through this once.

Reading about it on their web site and also about the iOS version in the app store, there are many features (not clearly specified) that are only available in the premium subscription.  The rates shown on the iOS app are $4.99 per month, or $39.99 per year or $149.99 for a lifetime Plex Pass.

One person said it takes forever to transfer files since it converts the format instead of using multiple formats.

They tried transferring a movie and many, many hours later it wasn’t finished.  He canceled that and manually copied it to OneDrive in 27 seconds.

Of course, that is copying to another place on the hard drive, but I know the sync time for OneDrive is very fast.

 

So, after reading about this with all of its promises, I think I will pass on this one.
