Re: Another Winamp Question

I've discovered an interesting problem with that version. If I press Shift plus L to open a folder, I can navigate to a folder which I absolutely know contains nearly three hundred folders, but Winamp says there's only one. If I remove 5.666 and reinstall 5.63, it works correctly. Weird, eh?

I’m using version 5.666 build 3512.
I believe I installed the full version the last time I did so.

Hello, everyone.
Within the past few wekes, whenever I try to play an audio file from my external hard drive with Winamp, I get a message that says something like: “Winamp has detected a an external drive; do you want Winamp to access this drive?”.
There is a yes/no button, but I can’t get to it.
I have tried enter, and the space bar. I also have tried rooting the Jaws cursor to the PC cursor, but have had no luck.
Occasionally, after trying, I can get the message to play, but then I get an error message about reporting the problem to Winamp.
And, once I get these messages, the only way I can get rid of them is to completely shut down and re-boot my computer.
Has anyone experienced this issue? If so, how can I respond, or better yet, how can I turn this anoying notification off?
I’m using windows 10 version 1809 with the latest build of Jaws 2019.
Thanks!

Hello,
It might be that your ribbons are collapsed. Get into the ribbons and hit Control F1. If this then says "ribbons expanded," then they should read correctly again. David

Hi, Tom. Try the following,
In the Winamp program, go to Preferences > Plugins > Portables > look for the USB one, and hit the uninstall button
Or with Winamp closed, delete pmp_usb.dll from the Program Files (x86)\Winamp\Plugins folder.

The alt shift f10 issue
Kevin Meyers <kevinmeyers@...>
Hello, Support at Freedom Scientific or whatever there name is now finally was able to get that nasty message of alt shift f10 to stop. At first we did a repair on the latest version of Jaws 2019. Not sure why it was necessary to do a repair since I updated on Tuesday directly from the site. That didn’t correct it. After doing the repair the message came up asking if I wanted to migrate all settings from 2018. They told me not to so I hit enter on no. The message came back and back and back. There was no way to get out of it. We rebooted and that didn’t stop it. Eventually I had to go into basics, automatically start jaws... and then turn off start jaws at the logon screen. Okay that message no longer came up. To fix the problem with the alt shift f10 all grammar checking settings had to be turned off. Now Outlook is giving me problems with the menus. I press alt and I no longer get the choices. It is like it is using the ribbons. Any thoughts of what I should do to get the menu to display correctly? I’m not sure I’m using the correct verbage for the menu issue. Thanks, Kevin

Hi, A wonderful, diligent, support rep at FS was able to fix the update problem by using the off line install. While they are receiving calls about the problem thankfully it did not take a total un install for repair. If you get issues with the update the offline version may be of help.
