Hi, Brian. Vispero says that CONTROL plus JAWS Key plus NumPad slash has been retired from JAWS as Drag and Drop. They told me that it was an oversight that it has not been removed from the documentation files.

Who uses drag and drop? I do. Couldn't run certain software without it. I don't use it or need it often, but when I do, I'm sure glad it's there. Thanks for the alert that it's been removed. Vispero will surely get a call from me about this in the morning.

JAWS script for Image describer NVDA add-on

Oliver Edholm

Hi everyone!
I'm wondering if people would be interested of a JAWS script version for an NVDA add-on I've made.
The add-on is called "Image describer", it takes the current navigator object and then says what it contains by looking at it visually. Kind of like the Facebook auto alt text, but this works anywhere.

The add on can be downloaded at http://www.screenreader.ai/
Since the feedback from the NVDA community has been very positive I thought that a JAWS version would be also appreciated by people.

F6 should do it. I always use alt-v, then h. It is a carry-over from before the ribbon. To insert a header is alt+n, then h.

My Blind Spot was working with Intuit on Quickbooks accessibility.  Also,  On the AIRA podcast I heard that Quickbooks is providing free AIRA access to small business owners who need help when using Quickbooks.   I used Quicken for years, but, after a computer crash, I just didn’t get back into it. I’m tracking my husbands minimal business expenses and our deductible expenses on Excel.  Not glamorous, but functional for now.  I keep meaning to try Money Talks, but just havent’ done it yet.

With regard Quicken or Quickbooks. I thought I heard that Intuit was developing Quicken with some accessibility built into the quicken program. Perhaps calling their office in Mountain View, California could settle that question.

1.  real estate taxes

2.  electric

3.  Professional expenses

etc.  Thanks for any help!

If an automated system could solve those annoying captchas, don’t you
think bots would have render them useless by now?

They are very difficult for sighted people to work out and often take
several attempts.  My wife, who has 20/20 vision has trouble with them.

I doubt a feature like this Picture Smart is going to do much, besides,
you would have to figure out from the entire screen which part of it was
the captcha.

I think our energy is better put toward convincing web site developers
who do not provide a useful audio challenge to switch to a system that
is logic based, or a math problem, etc.

Just my two cents worth.
