Hi Jerry, The .mp3 file is an audio file; the ms word file is a word file. You can’t take an audio file and convert it to printed words. Judy

You would need something like Dragon Dictate that
normally processes the spoken word into text, and if it has an import
function.

Re: Searching in windows 10
If you're asking whether the Windows Search under Windows 10 can search document content and e-mail message content the answer is yes.
I know that document content is enabled as the default. Enabling e-mail content will be dependent on the e-mail client you are using and, if memory serves, must be enabled by you once your chosen e-mail client is in place so that Windows Search knows where it's searching. No need to apologize with regard to being used to Windows 7. We've been anticipating a wave of new Windows 10 users after Windows 7 went out of support. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Tolerance is the positive and cordial effort to understand another's beliefs, practices, and habits without necessarily sharing or accepting them. ~ Joshua Liebman

The CTRL W command works exactly like I want it to for closing windows and returning to previous screens. I'll play around with the advanced settings options to see if I can find a better option for my opening files issue. For now keeping my downloads folder open and toggling between it and the program I am working in is easy enough. Thanks for the quick responses. Patrick

I’m in the process of learning how to use Zoom with Jaws, and have a question that may seem elementary to some. When in a Zoom meeting, Jaws lets me know as things are happening in the meeting, such as when new people join, who is raising their hand, etc.. This is great information to have; but I often don’t need it when attending or participating in a meeting, since I’m typically not the main meeting organizer. I suppose I could mute my audio via Alt A, but then people won’t be able to hear me. I also could turn Jaws off, but that seems a bit extreme. Any suggestions for dealing with unwanted Jaws speech during a Zoom meeting would be appreciated. I simply don’t want to distract other meeting attendees. Thank you. Tom Behler .

Figures and banners in Chrome
Terrilynne
Hi all,
I am using Jaws 18 with Chrome in Windows 10. Is there any way that I can turn off online messages such as figure, figure end, banner, banner end, region, region end? If so, I would love some specific directions. I am new to Windows 10 and don’t much enjoy it. 😊

Re: Using iTunes with JAWS
Ashleigh Piccinino
You might already be doing this, but F6 moves you between panes, so say you’re in your table of values, like music and things. You can move to another pane, like who the artest and stuff is by pressing F6. If you press it repeatedly, you’re back in the table,
and tab also works for this. Yet, with tab, you have to listen to JAWS say things like your volume, iTunes store, and a whole bunch of other checkboxes. CTRL will be your best friend if you wan to go to podcasts, movies, and/or books. Note that audiobooks
is the only thing available in the books section, something like CTRL and 5 on the numer row. CTRL 4 gets you to youyr pocasts, 3 with CTRL gets you to TV shows, I think, and for movies, CTRL an 2.

When I want to hear the participants list or other Zoom info or controls during a meeting I join the meeting from my laptop using earbuds. I can hear all of the info and meeting discussion without my microphone picking up the Jaws chatter from my speakers as happens when I join from my desktop computer.
