Hello list:

Have both latest, and previous(2019) versions of Jaws on my pc.

How can I verify that it's the latest version that is activating with start/power -up?

Best regards,

Hi,

As glen mentioned, place markers are really helpful for web based software
like this. I've worked in various companies which use these types of systems
for sales, bookings etc. when I first start and get an understanding of the
software and the fields I'll use and in which order, I'll set place markers
everywhere over pages I'll need to access, and use the 'find next place
marker key' every time I need to jump to the next section/field I need to
get to if its not the next field jaws would naturally take me too using the
tab key. I don't believe my company had anything specially scripted for me,
but again like I said I don't know how many of sales forces features our
company/my particular department used and it was two years ago now at
least, so things could have changed since then. I never tried the iPhone app
for sales force though.

I have had trouble with Sales Force. Our company uses it but it takes me
more time to find the right fields to enter data in than my work load and
frustration level can tolerate. Some companies who are using it have had it
scripted for the portions they use. But the companies I know have done that
have quite a few visually impaired employees.
Some of SF works with the i-phone ap, but not enough to make it work well.
Just yesterday I got a contact referral as sales force who has been hired to

get further into see if he can help in our situation, I can keep you posted.

Hi Anne,

I used Sales force in a previous job, only for a short while though. I think
I remember it being a web browser based software. I didn't have any
problems using it with jaws, it seemed to work fine. We mainly used it for
recording data of clients/customers , keeping track of outstanding work and
new incoming sales leads. It was a few years back though, so I don't
remember it fully and not sure we used all aspects of sales force, but like
I said the bits I did use I had no problems with jaws.

There are a lot of tools available for situations like this.
If you are looking for a regular area of the screen, you can put a place marker and then just press the letter K to jump to it.
Or visited links will help.
And then there is the Jaws search, control + F and type in part of what you are looking for and press enter.
If it is not what you want, press F3 to continue looking further down the page.

Can anyone send me instructions for using Whatzapp's   on my i-phone?  I have the app installed and know how to read or listen to other people’s conversations but don’t know how to enter new phone numbers and start conversations.

Is there a hot key sheet or tutorial out there?

Thanks.

Bill,

Thank you for the info.  Narrator came on but it didn’t help.  When I pressed tab, narrator would say tab and when I pressed up or down arrow it would say up arrow or down arrow.  Jaws won’t speak on that computer and I thought narrator might help me figure out why.  That computer has Windows 7 and Jaws 16.  I guess I’ll have to wait until I have sighted help available to tell me what’s on the screen and get Jaws speaking.

1.       Press the Windows Key to open the start menu.

2.       Type Narrator in the start search edit box and press Enter. Narrator opens with Microsoft Anna as the default voice.

Also be aware that Narrator as it exists prior to Windows 8/8.1 is not the Narrator you're used to in Windows 8/8.1 or 10.

I believe that even back in Windows 7 one enables/disables the ability to use whatever the built-in keyboard toggle for Narrator in Ease of Access settings, and what it is should be documented there.  It will need to be turned on.

Especially for those of us who are multi-lingual and deal with foreign
pronouns and all sorts of other words that don't require switching over to a
different language or if we simply want the dictionary change to take affect
across all applications and not just a specific one, you can fill those
entries up fast.
If the JAWS dictionary supported partial word entries, like every other pronunciation dictionary does, we could reduce the number of entries dramatically rather than duplicate the same strings found in partial words. For instance, the suffix skaya is the feminine version of Ski in Russian surnames. With a partial word entry for Skaya, I wouldn't have to add entries for every Russian surnam ending in that suffix. One partial word entry would take care of them all.

I think that is only windows 10.
Windows U will bring up all accessibility programs, and alt + N sets it for Narrator.
Or you can do windows + R
and type in narrator and press enter.
