WhatsApp Desktop Version and JAWS
Thabo Baseki <THAB0.BASEKI@...>
Hi, friends!
Has anyone here used WhatsApp with JAWS on their machine? I tried it, but had issues. I did not understand how it is navigated. Any help will be appreciated.
Best

Re: Walmart.com and Jaws
Hi,
I use the Walmart site each month to order many grocery and other items. I'm using the latest Jaws2020 on Windows10 and have had no problems. one thing that helps me to locate my search results is to use either the L key to find lists of search results or the G key to skip through graphics. Almsot all results will have a corresponding image. It would be nice if the site was layed out to be a bit more screen reader friendly, say by using Heading styles, but it is still very doable with JFW once you get used to it. ~Ann On Mon, Apr 13, 2020 at 02:46 PM, Angel wrote:

I finally got a delivery from Shipt after spending almost a week trying to find an open delivery window.

one thing I like about shipt is that they give you the choice of either a voice phone call or a text. Andy

I once saw that you could use F11 to navigate through Word templates such as resumes, forms and such. I tried navigating through the fields in a resume template with F11 and nothing happened. Is there something else that I need to do or what mode should I be in to accomplish this? Thanks. This is far to vague to be answered. What is it, precisely, that you're trying to navigate? Is it in the template itself in when it is in edit mode? Is it the document created by the template and, if so, what form of editing restriction is in place (e.g., fill in forms only)? -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 1909, Build 18363 Tolerance is the positive and cordial effort to understand another's beliefs, practices, and habits without necessarily sharing or accepting them. ~ Joshua Liebman

How would a sighted person know if something is doable with a screenreader? Glenn ----- Original Message ----- From: NCBootman Sent: Saturday, April 11, 2020 11:13 PM Subject: Walmart.com and Jaws
I want to explore the possibility of ordering groceries from Walmart.com. I have the latest version of Jaws and a sighted friend says it doesnt look doable with a screen reader to them. Is anyone using the regular part of Walmart.com or the grocery.walmart.com section with positive results? When I tried to navigate the sight, there did not seem to be any rhyme or reason to things but Im told visually it is laid out very clearly. Also, when I tried to search Google for any tips, I got nowhere.

Most sighted people don't, but there are a few who do. I'm usually leary when someone says something ca't be done, unless I know they are trained in accessibility or are very familiar with JAWs.
Mr. Damery is one such individual.

You might already be doing this, but F6 moves you between panes, so say you’re in your table of values, like music and things. You can move to another pane, like who the artest and stuff is by pressing F6. If you press it repeatedly, you’re back in the table, and tab also works for this. Yet, with tab, you have to listen to JAWS say things like your volume, iTunes store, and a whole bunch of other checkboxes. CTRL will be your best friend if you wan to go to podcasts, movies, and/or books. Note that audiobooks is the only thing available in the books section, something like CTRL and 5 on the numer row. CTRL 4 gets you to youyr pocasts, 3 with CTRL gets you to TV shows, I think, and for movies, CTRL an 2.

The trouble with light inexpensive scales is that they flex, are not accurate and don't last. Tom

regarding your local drive being unchecked. That's the default setting. If you check this, then all the folders on your local drive will be indexed, apart from those that are specifically unchecked at lower levels. This is probably not what you want, as this will mean all your system files being indexed, leading to a bigger index. By default, only the users folder is checked. David.
