Kevin,

I don’t use VLC, but I set up a shortcut on my desktop to go to the folder where all the iTunes files are located.  The path is:

"C:\Users\Test\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media"

Replace test with your unique folder for your setup in the Users folder and you can get right to where the files are.

You may have a subfolder under iTunes Media called Music that then will have all the folders of the albums you have purchased.

I suspect VLC could be directed to that folder, if it supports m4A files.

I must admit I don’t use  playlist at all with iTunes but for standard album playing the normal iTunes advice for use with screenreaders is to change the default album view to songs  view in the sidebar table.

You can then enable column browser which will sort  and organise your iTunes library into easy columns of artist albums and songs, and Genres also it you wish though I normally disable this particular column.

Column browser view is only available once songs view has been enabled.

Whether this helps with playlists I am not sure.

Basically I use iTunes as a shop and for iTunes Match and little else, preferring to use VLC for my actual music playing.

The issue of non-fillable forms is also something impossible to address electronically with a screen reader.

Hello,

The question of how to create fillable forms is a different issue from what to do with a form you have received that is not fillable. You can't take the form you have received from the government and somehow recreate it in a fillable format.

JAWS has trouble working with Excel for over half an hour or so. Sometimes unloading/reloading JAWS will fix it. Sometimes we have to do a complete JAWS shut down and restart. Sometimes it requires a reboot. It's the combination of JAWS and Excel. Sometimes even JAWS and Word, but not as often.

Cher,

I don't know what may or may not have happened in the 2003 and 2007 versions of Word, but as of 2010 and later (at least through 2016) the form controls you are likely used to (and that I still use and prefer) were available under Legacy controls under the developer tab.  Try ALT+L,N to get to them.  I'm not going to try to list the "next letter" as there are 18 options between the 6 Legacy controls and 12 active X controls.  I'm betting that you'll find most, if not all, of those familiar bits there.   They're much easier to use and more easily accessible than their "modern" equivalents.

Hi,

Jaws 2019, windows 10 pro latest and word 2016.

I press CTRL shift o, there are 218 inline objects, I thought by selecting all with CTRL a and tapping delete would do the trick, but to no avail.

How can I quickly remove these?

I created dozens while working for the state of TN, but as Word versions evolved, I lost the ability to access some of the form controls I needed. I gave up with version 2007- and don’t know if accessibility improved or deteriorated further after that.

One can create perfectly accessible forms with Microsoft Word, but it seems virtually no one knows how to do it.

Here's a very simple one I created several years ago for someone working at a local school.  She needed to be able to fill out what they call "bus notes" that allowed a student to vary from the normal routine.

Every checkbox and form field is announced as you tab through the document that is created by using this form template as its basis.  Having it selected and hitting enter should open Word with "Document 1" having been created, which is an un-filled-out bus note.

Sample Bus Note Form Document Template (dotx)

There are many fillable PDF forms that are accessible, and others that are not because adequate labeling of the various checkboxes, edit boxes, radio buttons has not been done.  I don't have the software to create fillable PDF forms, though.

you cannot buy iTunes music with anything but iTunes that I'm aware of.
So Kevin, are you listening just on your computer?
I do not use Winamp, so I do not know if you can play m4a files with it; but once the music is downloaded you could convert it to mp3 and use it to play your playlists.
If you are doing playlists on an iPhone or iPad; you are stuck with iTunes; or you can make them right on your device.

I find it pretty easy to make a playlist using NotePad and copying the path of the files I want in the playlist.
Shift + applications then the letter A copies the full path of the file for the playlist and then I paste that in NotePad.
I actually use control + space bar for all the files in a folder before doing the copy path command, so I can copy the path of a bunch of files at once.
Then when I'm done and save the TXT file, I exit NotePad and rename the file extension from TXT to M3U.

I started to use ITunes with Jaws 2019 and doesn’t work to well. I have a hard time with the playlists I created to show. Then when I navigate around eventually a certain playlist shows. At least I thought it did. Then I press enter on the play button and it plays a song in a different playlist. Is there a way to change something in Jaws settings or ITune settings to get it to work better?

Hi,

I have been putting off letting ITunes update to the latest version.  Before I do I thought I’d find out if I will regret it.

Thanks.

Hi Brian,

Okay, I found a result doing a search, but they did say the steps were for Wordpad and not Notepad.  My mistake, I thought the steps were referring to Notepad.  Thanks much.

Take care.  Mike.  Sent from my iBarstool.  Go dodgers!
I believe that everything happens for a reason. Usually, the reason is that somebody screwed up.

You don't.  Notepad (and I presume we're talking about straight Notepad that comes with Windows 10 and has come with all Windows for decades) is a text editor, not a word processor, and formatting options are almost non-existent.

You can change the font used, and whether lines will continue on "perpetually" or wrap, but that's about it.  That's the entirety of the Format menu.
