Hello, I’m using the most recent version of Jaws2019, windows10 – 1903 build 18362356. and chrome. I will flip from the chrome window to another. Then flip back to the chrome window. For some reason I end up at the top of the page. Then I have to move back down to where I was at. Is this a Jaws or chrome problem. This occurs on my bank web site of pnc.com. When I search in chrome and review the page I can flip in and out and remain where I left off. Thanks, Kevin

Thanks, but that didn’t work either.  Well I tried that combo...did not work, it looks like the command to stop Narrator in Win. 7 home + JFW is

insert + control + home

I had it on my desktop....but it is gone now!!!!

Well, you know more than I do about some of this. If you once pin Skype, I
think that's the task bar position it will occupy the next time you have a
chat. If you pin Outlook to the task bar, hitting the keystroke will take
you to whichever Outlook window has focus. If you stop the default behavior
of combining your task bar buttons, you can use first-letter navigation on
the task bar to get to all open windows of a particular program. So not
quite as efficient as what you want to do, but perhaps a good system to
implement until you can implement yours.

I don't know if you can do this at work, I suspect you can, but go to the
run dialog and type shell:appsfolder and press enter. You get a listing of
everything installed on the computer. You can put icons to all of them on
the desktop, native Windows apps won't come with such icons by default,
and
then assign hotkeys to them. It varies, but most of such hotkeys can be
used
to switch to the app as well as launch it, but that doesn't work with
Office
apps.

You can certainly pin your most important programs to the task bar. Skype
for Business and Outlook can be pinned. Once you learn the position of
the
icons on the task bar, up to ten of them, you can press Windows+Number to
launch or switch to that program.

I suspect at least some of this will work for you.

Dean,

Switch to Narrator, which gives counts for both the current screen and the entire file list in a folder. Switch back to JAWS, and JAWS is now likely to report the desired information.

It seems to me there was a solution to this little problem, but I can’t remember it. JAWS 2019 in Windows 10 gives inaccurate counts of files.  It will report that a given file is 1 of 25, when in fact there are many more than 25 files in the folder. I have changed the item type of the folder, to no avail. NVDA does this fine. The file is maximized. Is there a known fix?

following issues.
1. When Jaws is on, I can often use "g". While I know that there is some

shortcut Windows + g for game bar: I continually have to turn that off.
Any way to get rid of it permanently?
2. Jaws often loses focus while I am on the net. I have to press Alt +

Eagerly await solutions for these.

Hi, by and large this list is obviously very good at helping out jaws users with solving problems. But why, oh why on earth do certain list members insist on shoving their own protracted views on other members, as if they don’t know what they are talking about?

I personally use windows 7 to make use of sonar, which has had jaws scripts written for, but unfortunately can’t have scripts written for windows 10.

There are any number of reasons why users might need, or just want, to use windows 7, and quite honestly, it’s none of your business why.

They are asking for help on this list, and its’ not for you to strike up with personal opinions or know-it-all answers to their questions.

In future, trust what the original poster is asking, and answer in the best way you can. Please let’s end with this know-it-all snooty crap that certain posters insist on using. We are all jaws users and our choices are our own. Leave it alone.

Just my tuppence worth, and if it gets me banned, oh well
