If its a network drive then you are out of luck I’m afraid
If its a physical drive then you should be able to add it under indexing options so it can be searched

Hi, about 3 weeks ago I asked for assistance on how to search my computer with Jaws and windows 10. I got great responses but,I can't seem to get the information I need to successfully findfiles and or, contents of a file within my computer. I have tried multiple times and got more informationfrom the Web than anything else. I heard an option once Jaws saying (on this computer)) but not hearing this ever again. The information I place for search is definitely on my G drive so it should find it. I was told that the windows key and S was to searchthe whole computer and others mentioned windows and the e key. What on earth am I doing incorrectly?? I am sorry for re-posting this but I tried many times over the last few weeks. Andy and Shubert

Re: change default homepage in Microsoft edge
Hi, You won’t find some settings easily, I’m afraid, partly because Edge 81 is based on Chromium so it’ll look similar to Chrome up to a point. The best way to find certain settings is searching for them – that’s also the recommended method to look for certain things in Settings app (Windows+I). Cheers, Joseph

Hi, Yes. The following came up on Win10 Forum for Screen Reader Users archive (way back in January 2020):
You will need to open Edge settings (Edge menu (Alt+F)/Settings), search “startup”, tab around, then from On Startup grouping, select “Open a specific page or pages Open a specific page or pages”. Cheers, Joseph

hello everyone,
my name is Tom, I just lost my vision entirely back in August 2019, and I’ve only been learning Jaws since September 2019, so I’m still a newbie.
I hope I am sending this to the right place, being a newbie with Jaws, I don’t understand what email address I am sending this to. I hope I am sending this to the entire group.
in the new chromium version of Microsoft edge, how do I change the default homepage? And change the default search engine to Google? I mean, who even uses bing?
I have Jaws 2020, The home annual license version.

problems with mail and JAWS?
Ashleigh Piccinino
Hello, Recently, I’ve been experiencing a weird problem with Windows mail and JAWS. It’s now hit or miss as to whether JAWS will read e-mails as they’re open, bring up the thing where it says “mail start groups navigation” and a whole bunch of stuff, open the message but make it appear blank, or just crash. If I’m not making se4nse here, it doesn’t make sense to me either. However, I’m just wondering if any of you have had this issue? It’s been going on for me for quite some time but can’t really pin it on when my computer was taken into the shop for servicing/updates, and that was before I started my winter semester this year. Thank you, Ashleigh Piccinino P.S. another happening with JAWS and the mail app is that I can’t reach any attachments with tabbing as JAWS just crashes. Everything’s on the latest updates, so … Sent from Mail for Windows 10

Unfortunately, there were 2 problems. the first, was the link, which took you to the shopping basket page. This link had no text lable, to tell a user of a screen reader the purpose of the link. The link is a standard HTML coded link. the second is a standard HTML button, which also does not have a text label. This button is for removing an item from the shopping basket. My question is, is there a way within JAWS, where you can attach labels to specific links and buttons on an individual web site? The link and button on this web site are not graphics Thanks in anticipation. Dave Durber

See if the following steps work for you: Log in to your WordPress site. Find “Posts.” I have a placemarker set here. On the next page, search for the current title of the post you want to edit or delete. To edit, click on the edit link under the post’s title. When you land on the next page, you will have the option to edit the various fields. Be sure to end by clicking the “Update” button or your changes will be lost. To delete a post, click on the link below the title. as I recall, it’s labeled “Send to trash.” From: main@jfw.groups.io <main@jfw.groups.io> On Behalf Of Kevin Minor

Re: An accessible router
David Csercsics
Were you able to get openwrt to work with wifi 6 or 80211ac? The page I looked at seemed to indicate that only 80211G was supported or something, but I'd need at least N I'd think. What sort of router did you get? I liked openwrt when I used it, but haven't been able to find a supported router lately. Maybe they haven't updated the hardware table?

I installed OpenWRT on my router, which is very accessible via the Web interface or via the command line using Secure Shell (ssh). If you want to use the command line, JAWS is very effective in Windows Powershell (for which there’s a built-in ssh Windows client), or in Windows Subsystem for Linux. For the Web interface, I doubt that it matters which browser you use.

I didn’t see on the listing you linked to where it has USB. Can you use a browser to interface with it for setting it up? I don’t want to have to use an ap on my phone.

The NETGEAR, Nighthawk R6400 is a nice one I use it and it’s good with 2.4 and 5 GHZ! And it’s about $ 100, with support for USB!

Hi. Routers are accessible through their web interface. Ask the technician who will help you set up your router to give you your router's web address. The address might, for example, be 192.168.2.154, something like that. Then you can access it as you would any web site and set up the router on your own if you need to. Cheers!

What browser are you using to work inside of WordPress? I am primarily a Mac user, but am running Windows 10 as a virtual machine. I seem to have the best luck with my edits using Chrome (latest version) on Win 10 version 1909.

I am very new to WordPress and attribute most of my problems with my unfamiliarity of the platform. Also if you know of any sites or podcasts that provide some hints and tips it would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to avoid purchasing the $99 book that I keep coming across.
