Hi Tom and all, Tom, I think the new feature in Jaws 2020 is to announce Groups as you arrow down. This information comes from the Help menu in Jaws under “What’s New in Jaws”. First of all as others have said the view to group messages by date must be enabled. Then press Insert + V to open quick settings. Type “announce” in the edit box. Arrow down to the Announce Group Change In Lists item. Press the spacebar to select the checkbox. Tab to OK and press enter. Now when you arrow down through the list when the group changes from Today to Yesterday, Last Week etc. you will hear the change. Joe Picture of Owl with Mortar Board and Computer Dr. Joe L. You are correct in that alt v a b w is a toggle with checks and unchecks the groups option.
However, when I check the groups option, my messages are still not separated by date groupings. They are arranged chronologically by date, but date groupings still do not show. At the top of the list view is a message that says “group by expanded flag star date no date expanded. I’m not quite sure what this means.

I tried out several kinds of wireless head phones with Jaws working with Zoom, and found my corded over the ear just works great. It also has a round button where you can control your volume and whether it's muted or not. They don't make them anymore, otherwise I'd highly recommend them. My corded one works great

Bill:
I just tried this, and now, the message at the top of my inbox list view says “group by expanded date none expanded.
Again, I’m not sure what this means, since my messages are arranged chronologically by date and the dates for each message are spoken. The messages are just not separated by date, which is supposed to be possible with the latest Jaws 2020 update which I just installed last night.

Re: Zoom with JAWS and bluetooth headphones
Nermin
Hi, Alison,
try to check your sound settings in the Zoom app. Most audio settings are set up in such a way that zoom has control over what device is chosen and it sets the volume automatically to avoid feedback from people's speakers. I cannot tell you the exact wording since my Zoom is in German, but I'm sure others can chime in here. Also, you may want to set up your speaer and microphone in such a way that the app will use the same devices as your Windows does per default. That can also be done in settings. Finally, meeting hosts have the possibility of setting up "original sound" and "Stereo" so that anyone can change their audio and turn off all the aggressive sound pre-processing Zoom performs on incoming audio. However, this has to be done online through the web interface. Hope that helps, Nermin
