Hello,
I am currently going through a fair number of cassette tapes, containing spoken conversations, as well as audio CDS many of them containing various XM radio music programs and specials.
Using JAWS, what programs are available where I could insert the CD in my PC and convert them to MP3 files, where I can store multiple CDS on one single MP3 disc.
Related to this issue, I have an older CD player though I am not sure if it has the capacity to create MP3 files. I would guess there is a program that can help make this happen. In truth, I really have not converted any media to an MP3 format, so would appreciate some direction/assistance from those of you who are familiar with this process.
Regarding the cassette tapes, I have an old cassette deck, which I could use to transfer specific content onto an MP3 disc. Again, assistance with regard to this process is really appreciated.
I would really like to preserve some of this content, both spoken word and audio as it is a part of my personal history.
Best to all, Justin

Re: accessible crossword apps and other word games
When you do the NY Times crossword, do you ever use the option to just open the NY times crossword? Does it work better if you download the puzzle and do it that way?
I’m a NY times subscriber but I can’t get the APH site to recognize that I am logged in.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi everyone, There are a whole list of crosswords included in the aph crossword app. Yes, they are all educational, but playing with these is a good way to get used to navigating around the site. And it's fun to realize just how much I've forgotten from my old school days. LOL! Also, you can import your own crosswords and use them on the APH site. I have a Crossword subscription from the NY Times and frequently download their crossword puzzles as .puz files. These can be loaded in to the APH online site and used just like the pre-installed puzzles. I admit I don't use this site much, but that's because I use the Spoonbill Games Crossword app, mainly because it does not require me to be online for its use,and I've used it for so long I don't need to think much about its navigation anymore. ~Ann On Mon, Mar 23, 2020 at 08:48 PM, Norma A. Re: Extending JAWS License to June 30
Not exactly sure what you're asking. Does your client already have a JAWS license that will soon expire and so wants to extend it to June 30? Or does your client want to try JAWS for free for the first time for three months before deciding to purchase a one-year license? Or perhaps your client is currently using an older version of JAWS and wants to upgrade to JAWS 2020, in which case he should visit the following page to activate the free license which will run until June 30, at which time he can purchase a full one-year license for $90: https://portal.freedomscientific.com/SponsoredSoftwareGerald

If you already have a one-year JAWS license that will expire soon and would like to extend it to June 30under the terms of the free offer, call FS at 800-444-4443and choose option 1, then option 3. Be sure to have your serial number ready and tell the agent that you would like to extend your license to June 30. The agent will update your authorization, and you will not need to visit the FS web site to obtain a new activation code. Once the agent has updated your authorization, go to the update activation dialog on the license submenu on the JAWS help menu, and go through each page to reactivate JAWS. I justdid this myself, and was able to extend my license expiration from May 6 to June 30. Hey, every little bit helps. All FS telephone agents are now working from home, so you should not have trouble getting through to someone.

Like google docs was open in chrome and I pushed ctr plus Homero go to beginning of page and it did not say anything, then I pushed “h” for heading and it said nothing, then pushed tab and it said nothing then pushed down arrow and it said nothing. I got it to go to recent documents by pushing I think it was down arrow multiple times and it finally said something but I had to end up going to a recent document, opening it and going to file menu to open a new one.

Just an FYI:
A few days ago, someone asked if IE was the only browser that we can use to fill out the census. I just completed filling out the census form using Firefox. It went smoothly. I had no issues.
It feels great when things go well.

Re: accessible crossword apps and other word games
Hi everyone,
There are a whole list of crosswords included in the aph crossword app.

Hi, I'm a huge fan of crossword puzzles, and word games in general. I'm aware of Aph's crossword web app, but I'd like something that can be played regardless of whether or not I have internet. Does anyone know of any good crossword apps, and other word games, that work well with jaws?
Just did a google search, and a bunch of stuff from the Windows store came up, but I don't know if those games are accessible.
Thanks, Jessica

Like google docs was open in chrome and I pushed ctr plus Homero go to beginning of page and it did not say anything, then I pushed “h” for heading and it said nothing, then pushed tab and it said nothing then pushed down arrow and it said nothing. I got it to go to recent documents by pushing I think it was down arrow multiple times and it finally said something but I had to end up going to a recent document, opening it and going to file menu to open a new one.

Re: JAWS for free for now
As the offer states, anybody in the US and Canada can get this, internationally people have to contact the distributor for Jaws in their country.
It does not matter if you ever bought Jaws and let it lapse or if you have a current subscription licence. How Vispero deals with people who have a current subscription license and who paid for the year I don’t know, this is what their
customer service is for. I further would say that this is not such a big deal for those of us who have an SMA although Vispero may very well add 3 months to the end of your SMA, but again, just call and ask since only they can answer those questions.

Well, I was able to get it, and I've never used anything other than the 40-minute demo mode of JAWS on my own machine. This makes it easier for me to try to play with JAWS if needed without having to reboot my machine, at least for a couple
of months. The offer also applies to ZoomText and Fusion.

The page specifically states that the offer through the page itself is for the US and Canada only. But it also explicitly states that international options are available and that those outside the two noted countries should contact the
JAWS distributor in their country.

I am using windows 10 with jaws (I think 2017) on my laptop, and in google chrome. When google docs is open in chrome, how do I go to a blank new document?
Or how do I navigate from main page?
Like google docs was open in chrome and I pushed ctr plus Homero go to beginning of page and it did not say anything, then I pushed “h” for heading and it said nothing, then pushed tab and it said nothing then pushed down arrow and it said nothing. I got it to go to recent documents by pushing I think it was down arrow multiple times and it finally said something but I had to end up going to a recent document, opening it and going to file menu to open a new one.
