Thanks for the suggestions.

Unfortunately, control + shift + G, although it does bring up the word count
info, that info is still not read automatically in jaws 13 as was the case
in previous versions.

The second solution does work but is, for my money, too labor intensive for
something basic that should be working before a release goes public.

Still, appreciate the info.

I personally don't like winamp, I use itunes. There is itunes scripts
availible but I use mine without any scripts and without any problems.
Apparently the scripts adds a lot of shortcuts but I never needed
anything more than tab, F6, space and the arrow keys. Some people
don't like the way itunes diggs in to your music and rearanges it in a
way but I personally like it and I have about 70 GB of music, If you
have any other questions about itunes just ask.

eBay and Webvisum

Adrian Spratt

Below are slightly edited instructions that Alex Wallace posted on the
Webvisum Discuss list. They should be useful for JAWS users.

a few days ago, I wrote to the list, asking if Webvisum could be adapted to
work with eBay's CAPTCHA system. Due to the audio CAPTCHA system not
working, it wasn't possible to contact sellers without sighted help. I just
spoke to eBay regarding problems paying for an item, and they gave me useful
information which I thought I would share with the list. it was a nightmare
getting to talk to a live person, took me nearly an hour but I managed it,
they hide there phone number well.

they are going to ask about getting the audio CAPTCHA system fixed, but they
say it is possible to get direct contact information for sellers if you
click the right links.

1. Go to the eBay homepage, then look for a link called advanced.

2. Click it, and you are taken to the advanced search options.

3. Click the link called find contact information.

4. Enter an item number and the user ID of the person who's contact
information you want, and click the search link.

5. the contact information is e mailed to you.

note. Your contact information is also e mailed to the item seller when you
do this.

Re: problem with Windows Contacts

David Bailes

Hi,
the following text is taken from this Jaws guide to windows mail:
http://bit.ly/9b1QZX
When Windows Explorer is displaying the Contacts folder, if the Preview pane is shown, then there's a bug in Jaws which causes Windows Explorer to hang/freeze when you move through the contacts in the Folder view. There are two ways of hiding the preview pane. The first is to hide the preview pane and the details pane for all folders:
1. Choose Folder Options on the Tools menu.
2. The Folder Options dialog opens on the General page, and first control is a Tasks group of radio buttons. Select the Use Windows classic folders radio button, and then press Enter to press the default OK button.
The second way is to hide the preview pane just for folders which contain contacts:
1. Tab to the Organize button, which is the first control on the toolbar, and press it.
2. The Organize menu opens. Open the Layout sub-menu, and move to Preview Pane. If this is checked, then press Enter  which changes it to unchecked and closes the Organise menu.
David.

Need an Invitation

Robbie Curtis <essence64@...>

Hi Everyone,

A couple of days ago, I inquired about Solona and found out that it was no longer in service. I was then assisted by a couple of list members and was told that Webvisum is a good program to use for solving captchas. I downloaded Firefox and the Webvisum extension and found out that I need to be invited by someone before I can register.

So, if there is anyone using this service, could you kindly send me an invitation as I don't know of any of my friends and acquaintances that are using it. If anyone could do this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Robbie J. Curtis

JAWS 13, and MS WORD'S "word count"

Curtis Delzer

I have a friend who needs help with a problem. Seems he cannot get JFW13 to recognize word count. He is using XP and MS WORD 2003.
Thanks!

Curtis Delzer
