Oh yes, if you are using AT&T they do have an excellent router, it is called
Two Wire and works very well with their DSL service.

Ted, thanks for responding. I'd be interested to know how well JFW works in
a work from home virtual call center environment. I've seen jobs available
with Alpine Access. I tried working with Cloud 10, and that didn't work
well at all. If you'd be so kind, I'd like to know first how to find jobs
with companies that have software that works with jaws, and how JFW works in
these situations.

Jaws loosing focus from edit boxes in Windows 7 Pro 64

Carl de Campos <carldc@...>

Hi List,

I’ve just joined this list, from South Africa.

I’m using Jaws 13 Beta, but same problem with 12.
Windows 7 Pro 64 on Dell Vostro 3550 with i5 M2410 cpu, 4 gb ram, and I think ATI dedicated graphics, well with 256GB dedicated vram.

Since the start, jaws looses focus from an edit windows, such as when you open a new mail in Windows Live mail, it will jump back to the Inbox whilst you’re trying to type the recipient address, or jump out a “connect to server” window if trying to connect to sql, etc.

It’s gotten so bad that I can’t connect to sql at all, everytime I alt-tab back to the connection window and try typing a servername, it jumps right out again. Even at odd occasions while typing this mail.

I have noticed that it only happens with jaws, using firstly narrator, and then download a 30minute demo of the opposition allows me to connect to servers, type new e-mails, etc.

I have tried all the following:

Tried different screen resolutions, including 1024 x 768
tried values of 0 and 30d40 in ForeGroundTimeout registery desktop key
tried various values for ForeGroundFlashCount registry key
Reinstalled jaws 12 and 13
disabled anti virus (Avira) and Malware Anti Malware.
Unchecked “activate windows when dragging mouse over application window” under “Make Mouse easier to use” in control pannel.
Looking at finances to support the opposition product, but no luck!

Anyone have any simlar experiences with any luck?

Would a reinstall help, as I’m scared to go through the mission of reinstalling Windows and apps and still having the same problem.

Would appreciate your advise, out of pure desperation, as I need to become productive again for my work.

Thanks/Regards

Just to let you know, it is a monsterous program and I found a way to make

Sorry to keep you all guessing, but I will let you know when it is ready to

Re: Help

Kenny:

You can do it either way. After I wrote the message I did, I finally discovered how to use the drag and drop properly. The Windows Media Player manual says that you just use that "add to burn," feature if you are wanting to burn tracks other than what are in your library. Well, either way, I figured it all out and finally burned my first CD tonight.

I am trying to use the drag and drop keystroke to burn some tracks from my
Windows Media Player library, and I'm doing something wrong and need
somebody's help.

When I first get started with the burn process, I arrow over to the
"Burn,"
button and hit the Enter key. I then insert my CD. I then tab over to
the
primary list in my Windows Media Player library. I arrow down to find the
track I want to add to my "burn," list. When I find it, I use the JAWS
keystroke to drag and drop, which is Control+Insert+num pad slash. When I
use this keystroke JAWS says, "To drag , place the JAWS or PC cursor in
the
drop location and then hit Control+JAWS key+num pad slash." I
then tab over to the "burn," basket, which usually involves hitting the
Tab
key twice. When I am in the burn basket, I then hit the Control+JAWS
key+num pad slash key combination. JAWS usually says, "Drag to drag," but
after it does the track which I was meaning to drag does not appear in the
Burn List. The Burn List still just shows that there are 0 items. I'm
sure
there are probably at least one of you listers who have burned tracks from
your Windows Media Player library, and perhaps you can tell me
what I'm doing wrong and give me some guidance and some help.

Re: Help

I tried that, but I kept getting an error message saying that the item could not be dragged.

Hello there;

Wouldn't it just be easier to copy and paste?

Subject: Help

I am trying to use the drag and drop keystroke to burn some tracks from my
Windows Media Player library, and I'm doing something wrong and need
somebody's help.

When I first get started with the burn process, I arrow over to the "Burn,"
button and hit the Enter key. I then insert my CD. I then tab over to the
primary list in my Windows Media Player library. I arrow down to find the
track I want to add to my "burn," list. When I find it, I use the JAWS
keystroke to drag and drop, which is Control+Insert+num pad slash. When I
use this keystroke JAWS says, "To drag , place the JAWS or PC cursor in the
drop location and then hit Control+JAWS key+num pad slash." I
then tab over to the "burn," basket, which usually involves hitting the Tab
key twice. When I am in the burn basket, I then hit the Control+JAWS
key+num pad slash key combination. JAWS usually says, "Drag to drag," but
after it does the track which I was meaning to drag does not appear in the
Burn List. The Burn List still just shows that there are 0 items. I'm sure
there are probably at least one of you listers who have burned tracks from
your Windows Media Player library, and perhaps you can tell me
what I'm doing wrong and give me some guidance and some help.

Thank you.

Rick Miller

holiday for some?

Dorothy <dorothy.ingram-gorban@...>

I think it is a Bank holiday for those of you in North America, and I wish
you well. I shall be off list for a while but not for a holiday. I hope soon
to be back fitter than I left. I spoke to a friend last night about Jaws,
and he is still surprised that next version is named jaws 13. I said we
are hoping the fix for jaws 12 will be a good one, as some will not buy
jaws13, surely they must do that. He said putting jaws 12 right may not be
worth fs doing if "it needs a lot of coding they will expect jaws 13 to do
that. I asked about windows 8 since I know he has a copy he said it is still
very raw stage and he doubted it will be out for another year or more. Well
that is just 1 mans opinion of course Thanks for putting up with my poor
typing and lousy punctuation. Regards Dorothy.
