Hi Angel,

Try the following:
1. Windows key + I, for Settings, and tab 1 time to, System.
2. Navigate to, Personalization, press enter.
3. Navigate to, Taskbar, press enter.
4. Tab several times to,Select which icons appear on the Taskbar link, press enter.
5. Tab through these icons, pressing the spacebar to turn them on / off.  Turn the icons on that you want to show in the System Tray.

I have another question concerning Jaws and Windows 10.  How does one cause Jaws to read what resides in the system trey.  I have Jaws, for example, in my system trey.  But, I would never know it.  Because, I am not shown what resides in my system trey.  Save three things, volume, network status, and battery strength.  Which came with my system.  I have a few other programs I have loaded in my system trey.  Which I am unable to hear.  When I press Jaws 11.

Howdy CathyAnn,

Thank you very much, it's working great!  I made that settings change at least 4 times, but apparently it didn't stick!  LOL  LOL  Thank you very much, this time it seems to be holding.  I don't know why it didn't stick before, but we'll see if this setting holds.

Alexander,

I do know that Marriott Hotels uses Jaws and openly hires those blind that need this software to handle the work duties as a Customer Service Agent within their call centers. There are others as jlodge.com and maritz that also have blind individuals working from their home as such Representatives, as well. Marriott Hotels also allows work from home as Customer Service Representatives from home, after a 6-month trial at the call center.

Best of luck,

Rick

Filters have commonly been put in place for the From: field and using the "contains" option, which does not require the entire e-mail address.

If you are using IMAP access I'd suggest you find out how to add filters on the server side rather than in your e-mail client.  Then they are "one and done" and you can change e-mail clients at will, or use multiple devices to access your e-mail, and all will have had the same filtering applied by the server before you ever see your messages.

Not all combo boxes are created equal, I have come across some where Alt + Down Arrow worked, others required me to press enter and yet others close every time you arrow up or down and you have to open them again, arrow once more and keep repeating this. And of course there are those where it simply won’t work, as I said, sometimes in those cases turning off the virtual cursor may do the trick.

Is this a feature new to JAWS? I navigated the tree view and the closest thing I found to internet is Web/ PDF.

Go to system settings with insert/jaws key and 6 on the number row

Choose defalt settings

Tab to you hear users and arrowdown to internet…, I do not remember the entire string but it is the only in the list which starts with interned, hit enter and arrow down to tables and hit enter, and arrown down once to

Tables… and arrow right once and arrow down once to all

Close the system settings and it will ask you to save and choose yes

Hi,

Prior to installing the latest Jaws 64 bit update a few days ago, Jaws would read the row position in a web based table as  I arrowed    up the column but since the update, Jaws no longer gives this information.

Can someone inform me which settings need to be changed so once more Jaws can give this info?

Thanks

Tom

When in the field like month and it is highlighted you need to do control alt down arrow to open the drop down and then arrow to the one you wish and hit enter.

Yes, I have experienced this same issue.  No matter what settings “Form Mode” is set to.

Dear Listers:

What do you do when you come to a form you have to fill out and, although Forms Mode is on, JAWS will not work?

I am using the latest JAWS 2020 update and am using Windows 10.  I just tried to order a copy of a baseball broadcast from the Miley Collection.  I got to the order, added it to my cart, found the cart and went to the checkout page.  While I was checking out I was entering my credit card information.  I entered the card number successfully, and then came to the combo boxes where you had to fill out the month and year of expiration.  For the month, Forms Mode came on and JAWS said to select the month using the arrow keys, but when I arrowed up and down, JAWS did not speak the month.  The same was true with the year.  I even went back to the month, tried arrowing down the number of months to the expiration month and hit the Enter key, but nothing happened.  The same was true with the year.  The expiration is five years from now.  I got down to the “Year,” form, and when Forms Mode came on I arrowed down five times and hit the Enter key, but nothing happened.  In the end, I had to place the order by telephone.  This is not the first time I have run across this type of problem with JAWS, and I’m just wondering what any of you do when you come across it.
