Re: sharing documents via facebook.

Hey Dave,
Thanks for pointing that out. If the policy of the list doesn’t allow us to discuss anything except Jaws, then I’ll keep that in mind for future. I wasn’t aware of the same.
But for now, I’ll be highly obliged if any lister can help me out in cracking this problem, though off the list keeping the guidelines of the list in mind.
At the outset, I apologize for posting contrary to the list guidelines; I had no intention of violating the guidelines, I wasn’t aware of this guideline.
Thanks Dave once again for pointing that out.
Regards
Amar Jain.

I find Omnipro 18 easy to use.
Your client could get it from Amazon for about $100 new or even less as a used previous version.

Ann,

Ed mentioned OmniPage, and others alluded to it. Compared to Kurzweil and
Openbook, it is pretty inexpensive. At the company's website, it is listed
at $149, but you can probably get it cheaper via Google. I find the program
both easy to use and quick to convert. It also saves me from dependence on a
third party.

Here's Nuance's description of its OmniPage 18 product:

The JAWS13 OCR does only a single screen. there used to be a place, maybe
pdf2txt@somewhere, that would convert a pdf to text. I assume even an
image, but I don't know.

There is a companion product called PDF Converter which operates as an

I know there is something called VizWhiz (sp?) where iPhone users can

Convenient OCR reads the current page, but not the whole document. For myself I use OpenBook, because I have it. My student, however, does not have an OCR program, so I'm looking for alternatives.

However if you need to generate a text file of the document, then you're
back to your original question, since I presume you don't have Openbook or a
similar OCR program on your PC.

I know you received a discouraging reply earlier, but I'm wondering if you

Soronel Haetir

I've now used the convenient OCR on a few scanned PDFs and it
generally works pretty well. Not as good as the sort of product(s) Ed
mentions (the convenient OCR can only do whatever is actually
on-screen where a real OCR package can do the entire file in one go),
but if this sort of thing is only incidental for you then the new jaws
feature may well be more than enough.

JAWS and Windows Mail

Rick Roderick <rickrod@...>

Hello, everyone,

Here is a message that is definitely on-topic.

I have Windows Vista on a 32-bit machine. Windows Mail came preinstalled.
When I write an address with autocomplete, it comes up properly. I can hear
it in JAWS, but on the Focus 40, all that appears is a semicolon. How do I
get addresses to appear properly. I am using structured mode.

The same kind of thing happens in Winamp, though not to the same degree.
How do I get all of my bookmarks to appear as I scroll to them? Right now,
they work to a point. Then, I can only hear them.

Dacia,

If you tab until you're in the search heading of your Internet Browser, I
think there's a tool bar section. Perhaps pressing spacebar there will open
any toolbars available?

Other than that, I never willingly wander into that part of the browser, so
don't know.

If they didn't get removed after uninstalling JAWS 11 and JAWS 12 then I
guess it's okay. Those will have nothing to do with shared components, since
you're removing them from inside the Programs and Features dialog.

remove JAWS 11 and 12 if you don't want them there. Otherwise, don't mess

I did so. I only have 13. So Can I delete them? Someone said yes and not remove share components.

Holger,

Don't just remove the talking installers -- that makes no sense at all. Just
remove JAWS 11 and 12 if you don't want them there. Otherwise, don't mess
with the installs piecemeal.

Hi, I was looking at my programs and features and saw freedom scientific
talker installer 11, 12 and 13. My question is can I remove 11 and 12 talker
installer without hurting jaws 13?

Re: A Music player

Dave...

Are we getting just a bit off topic for a JAWS list, now?

Here are a few Winamp questions.

1. How do I make a playlist of MP3 files for it?

2. I listen to a lot ofonline radio. I bookmark many of these stations.
Is there a way to put them in categories? I could do this when Real Player
was my main listening program, but I haven't figured out any way to do it
with Winamp.

3. When I go through my bookmarks, I can hear them without any problem, but
if I want to examine them on my braille display, they will no longer show up
after several lines. I am in structured mode.
