Re: [Bulk] [Bulk] Jaws 13 & Virtual Ribbons

Marks, Jim

Yes, I want to use the standard ribbons, mostly because I've got the keystrokes down for certain functions. For example, I often use the alt+h, x, n keystrokes to save attachments within Outlook. When one uses the virtual ribbon, those keystrokes no longer work. And I cannot seem to find a way to make them work in the standard ribbon using Jaws 13, either.

Since we've talked last, I've been trying to use the virtual ribbons. They do work nicely if a user is willing to give up the keystrokes.

Your suggestion to run a repair made a huge difference. Before the repair, the behavior of the ribbons was the same regardless whether I had the virtual ribbon turned on or off. Now I get the virtual ribbon, and it works differently than how the standard ribbon functions with Jaws 13, just like it is supposed to do. I still cannot use those time-saving keystrokes with the Jaws 13 standard ribbon, though. I sure would like to be able to use the keystrokes instead of hunting around in the ribbon, even the less cluttered Jaws virtual ribbon.

New email count in Outlook 2010

Dondi

Hi Everyone,

I have several folders under my inbox that I filter incoming emails to. One
of these folders is older and when I down arrow to the folder JAWS tells me
how many new emails is inside. But I have a new folder that I also send new
emails to but JAWS doesn't say how many new emails are inside when I arrow
down to it. Does anybody know how to turn on this feature on so JAWS will
tell me how many new emails are inside?

Bug in Word 2007 file menu

John ESherrer

Hi Folks

I am using JAWS 12 and I was using Word 2007 in the web view and I went to
the file menu and went to New, and JAWS moved the menu to open. I had
trouble opening the New menu, but was able to do so.

To test another problem I used NVBA and found that the problem did not exit.

navigating walmart website for on line payment

I was able with difficulty to navigate the on-line walmart site to pay my bill earlier; but, after loading jaws 13, and disabling chocqua flash in internet explorer, I am still not able to get it to display everything.
So I can not redo my password, or look at my online statement or anything.
Is it a question of javascript or whatever that stuff is called?

Rather than a window message, use the FSApi.dll and the JFWStopSpeech
function. If you look around the FS website you should be able to
find at least a header for the jaws API, possibly an import library
too (though I believe it is recommended that you use run-time dynamic
linking - LoadLibrary/GetProcAddress).

just tried to use the Outlook 2007 keyboard command, control+r to reply to

the reply button. Perhaps Jaws 13 won't work well with MS Office 2007?

Yes. Works very well. Voiceover is a good interface. And to keep
this
on a JAWS topic, iTunes has a set of JAWS scripts written to
make it
more accessible under Windows. Once you've mastered the iTunes
interface, it's relatively easy to learn how to create playlists in
your library and sync them to the iPod. But there's another good
list
that you should subscribe to for these questions, since again
this is
straying away from the purpose of a JAWS-related list. No, I'm
not a
moderator, in spite of others'
attempts to
brand me in that fashion. I'm just a lister who knows that
eventually
our moderator (or other moderator-wanna-bees) will chime in and
complain about the lack of JAWS relevance.

CPanel with JAWS 13

ferretdance83 <ferretdance83@...>

Are any webmasters having problems switching between the menus in CPanel with JAWS 13? I have been using JAWS 10, and, although I must use the mouse the mouse commands to go between the site, menu, content, component, extensions, tools, etc., CPanel has been accessible. However, JAWS 13 will not, for one, stay in JAWS cursor mode, because the screen changes as the menus pop up, and the menus then disappear, because I didn't click on one, since JAWS switched back to PC cursor. Even if I can get to where I want to click, I don't usually get the intended result. Anyone else using CPanel with JAWS 13 with any ideas?

how to send a message to JAWS (PostMessage)

Marco Steinebach <marco.steinebach@...>

Hello,
My question has todo with programming. Under Windows you can send
messages to an application, e.g. with the PostMessage command.
Can anybody tell me the messagenumber, wich stops the speech output,
as if I had pressed ctrl?
This would be very helpful.
Best Regards
Marco

Hello there;

It's really not that hard to press insert+spacebar, then, o=OCR,
S=scan.

Hello, Everyone.

Has anyone tryed to use the Ocr feature in the JAWS 13.0 and if so do you
have find it har to do the key cp,combonations? I was also wondering if I
could reasign those Keys to a more friendly combonation that would not be so
hard to do? So, if anyone has done so please let me know, and if not than
where could I go to do so?

Thank you very much and have a nice day.

Re: Computer cleanup maintainents questions.

Chris Smart <csmart8@...>

I use JV16 Power Tools, in conjunction with Windows 7's own Disc Clean-up and Disc Defrag utilities. JV16 is powerful but takes some Jaws cursoring to access, so you'd probably want something a little more accessible.

JV16 could be scripted though; i just don't have the time and can get around it fine with the Jaws cursor.

computer clean up programs on google but they don't seem to work with
JAWS!
