Agreed!
Tried control plus F-6 twice so far, and it worked both times. So far, so good!

No, Ctrl+F6 has worked consistently since I learned about it. It's a
life-saver. FS really should put together a "tips and trick" seminar or
posting to their site. Perhaps add it to their Surf's Up presentation.

I have not figured out why I seem to get "stuck" in the tool bar. I'm

can
just hit tab a few times and get down into the page, other times hitting
tab

Re: One problem I'm encountering with the new jaws.

Dave...

Mike,

In the settings center, enter the word copy and you'll come up with a
setting that might help. Here's the description of that setting:

This option controls whether or not JAWS will use the Text Selection and
Copy Commands from the Web browser, e-mail software, or other owner of a
virtual document.
With the "From Virtual Cursor" setting, text is copied as plain text without
formatting, pictures, and HTML attributes.
With the "Full Content Using Onscreen Highlight" setting, the text and
elements you select are highlighted onscreen as you press selection keys
from the keyboard just as it would be in programs like Word Processors. The
content is then copied with all formatting.
The default setting is Full content using onscreen highlight.

Hi,

Here's some things that might help.

Control+Y takes you to the tree view of your Outlook folders.

Here's the list for the jump to shortcuts.
Control+1 Go to inbox.
Control+2 Go to calendar.
Control+3 Go to contacts.
Control+4 Go to tasks.
Control+5 Go to notes.

Hi.
I am using Jaws 12 with Outlook 2010.
Does anybody know how I can get to and read the calendar.
I can find the calendar by going to the file tab and arrowing down to the
open tab.
When I hit enter on the open tab, it says open calendar.
I hit enter on that and it asks me to type in a file name.
That is where I get stuck.
In Outlook 2003 I could go to calendar and arrow across from date to date.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Eric.

Yes. However, F6 sometimes takes two presses. Control-F6 focuses you right

some of my own cursers, as well.) At 10:32 AM 10/31/2011, you wrote:

Usually (though not always), if I hit Alt plus d and then hit shift tab
5 times, that gets me out.
Well, it gets me out of my "stuck" condition in a captive Web
application that I have to keep running all the time.
If that doesn't work, then F-5 (which is a very handy key) will
sometimes work.
Still, there are times when Alt plus F-4 is the only option. Very
frustrating!

Subject: getting stuck in the tool bar

I have not figured out why I seem to get "stuck" in the tool bar. I'm
running 13 now but seemed to have the same problem with 12. Sometimes
I can just hit tab a few times and get down into the page, other times
hitting tab just cycles through the toolbar. Somtimes switching to the
virtual cursor helps, other times nothing helps.

Re: Making Outlook07 say number of list item?

Adrian Spratt

I'm sorry to say this command doesn't work that way in Outlook. There was a
lengthy thread on this subject some time ago, and none of us could find a
solution.

Subject: Making Outlook07 say number of list item?

HI guys: I'm back after a time since I always learn something new on here!
For those new I'm Gerardo from Mexico and use Jaws 12 Spanish version under
Windows7 Professional.

Now for my debut question: I've got Outlook07; Insert+up arrow doesn't read
what number of list item I'm on! For instance I could be on email number 80
of 120 and whereas everywhere else Jaws reads this info, why isn't it read
in Outlook07? Is there any solution? I tried going into the new Insert+f6
but don't know what to look for to change this Outlook07 behavior! Any
ideas?

Gerardo

Re: getting stuck in the tool bar

Yes. However, F6 sometimes takes two presses. Control-F6 focuses you right
back on the page. The suggestion came from Negoslav, and it works every time
for me.

Does f6 help? that's the one I use. and of course the JAWS cursor. (And
some of my own cursers, as well.) At 10:32 AM 10/31/2011, you wrote:

Usually (though not always), if I hit Alt plus d and then hit shift tab
5 times, that gets me out.
Well, it gets me out of my "stuck" condition in a captive Web
application that I have to keep running all the time.
If that doesn't work, then F-5 (which is a very handy key) will
sometimes work.
Still, there are times when Alt plus F-4 is the only option. Very
frustrating!

IF tabbing does not get you out and just cycles through, it's usually
because the page has not finished loading. Try F5 to refresh.

I've also cursed at the whole IE interface every time I get "stuck" up
there in that area. I've turned off everything I can think of and still
there are elements that grab my cursor if I'm careless enough to tab
beyond the bottom of a page.

Don't know any answers, as it's more to do with IE7 and IE8 layout than
JAWS.

Thanks.
Eric.

When in outlook 2010:
Control and the number 2 it will open the calendar. Control and the number
1 will take you back to mail.
