since pin to start menu is a windows vista and 7 only item I see a bit of a problem here as well!

I decided to respond on-list because I know this is something others are interested in, and might be making the same mistake. The problem is that you're not on a file, you're on a folder. That's why you have the "explore" item in the context menu. You need to be on the actual jfw.exe file. on my system, the full path is:
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
C:\Program Files\Freedom Scientific\JAWS\11.0\jfw.exe Obviously, I have Jaws 11. So when you get to the Jaws folder, don't press applications. Press enter. Then go to whatever number version you have and press enter. You'll find the jfw.exe file in there. Now you can press applications, and find "pin to start menu".

this is why being on a list like this is a good thing, you can sit here and watch the adventurous run the beta's and the first hard code releases and see what happens, then decide if your going to run it yourself.

A word of caution--be damn careful entering your bank password. They may lock you out after only 1 failed attempt--that's what First Federal does. If they lock you out, you have to call in and get yourself unlocked, so better write down your bank password and enter it slowly and carefully. If your bank issues you a credit or debit card, that may require another user name and password. Again, this is my experience with First Federal. Their Visa company requires a different combo so you can pay your Visa bill. Don

That is interesting! We have 2 computers with XP Home, 1 with XP Pro, & 1 with XP Media Center, & none of them have the pin to start menu option in the context menu. Most banks I have found have accessable web sites allowing one to review their accounts, perform electronic payments, transfer funds etc; You can also ask the bank or financial institution if their web site is screen reader friendly. Some may even have a demo page for you to try out. The major banks usually will charge a monthly fee while smaller ones will not. Charles

I have been using versions so long, however, that the one thing I don't care much for is the new settings center, I had it all figured out exactly what I needed to do with configuration manager when I wanted to change something, that said, provided you know what they have named something (and sometimes I do not know that) using the search box is great. Jaws 12 also really pushed the virtual ribbons. I used them for a while but could not figure out how to open some e-mails the commands for which I already know the keystrokes so, I turned them back off and use the ribbons since I learned 2007 and 2010 using them and since I have 9 at work figured it best not to become too dependent on them. Hi Dave,

In XP there is not a, pin to start menu, option in the context menu. At least I have never seen that option on my computers. Also, not everybody has a, start menu, option in their, Send To, folder. At least, I didn't & had to add it. Take care. Mike
