Ah yes, I forgot about good old tell-me, though it, too has its occasional quirks. For a while there I would call in for a baseball score and it would say that the score for a game was 0 to 0 even though the game had been in progress for some time. ; I'll have to get back to using it again to see how it's doing. Thanks for the reminder. Tom

Hi,

Okay, good points, but the answer begs the question: where can you get the scores and schedules that you want without wading through a lot of extra clutter? As much as I've used and liked ResearchIt, there's gotta be some other way to get that info that isn't too much of a pain in the arse. I also wonder about those desktop gadgets in Windows 7: isn't there one that will get that information? Accessibility issues aside, is such a gadget prone to the same problems that ResearchIT has? Just curious. Tom

Well James, It's been over a month and I'm still getting your fraggen list posts. I guess I'll have to take it above his head to the servers owners or maybe to a higher authority. Now James either fix the unsubscribing problem or manually remove people who ask to be removed! Luis... A very pissed off unsubscriber. Oh wait you can't do that here!

I was trying this morning to help a client to do this. The client has an existing Magic Jack account, which is deactivated. I logged into that account at my.magicjack.com and pressed enter on 'My Subscriptions'. I was told to re-activate, plug in the Magic Jack USB device and follow the instructions. I did this. The first screen that came up appeared not to be accessible with JAWS, but I had a sighted individual who clicked on the box to register Magic Jack. After that, the screens were pretty accessible. I selected the option to log into an existing Magic Jack account and did so. Then, I was asked to provide a name for the client's device which I did. Then, I was given several options for picking a phone number. I selected that I would pick the area code and prefix and let Magic Jack assign the last four digits. I was then able to select the client's state, area code and prefix. After doing this, then going through about four screens where Magic Jack wanted to sell my client extras, I got to a confirmation screen that told us what the number would be. It also said a confirmation e-mail would be sent in about an hour. Well, an hour went by and no confirmation. I looked all over on my.magicjack.com to see if there was a way I could call someone, couldn't find anything. I did make sure my client had a payment method on his account. Does anyone out there know what I may have done wrong, or, have tips for me on re-activating Magic Jack and assigning a different phone number using JAWS? If you don't have any SMA remaining then you'll need to purchas or run in 40-minute demo mode. I don't want to be left without a working laptop so I need to know from people who have used it that it works, also, how different is 2010 from 2007? From what I've heard, not too much different. Since you already know aboutthe ribbon you'll not be affected much by that transition. And, can I get a converter so I can open files on my 2007 machine at home? I'm sure 2010 will allow you to save in an earlier format, but frankly don't think there's going to be any difference between 2010 files and 2007 files. I suspect that 2010 is just adding more features. Not like the change from Office 2003 to 2007. On a related note, if I have an sma, can I just go to the website and download the latest versions of jaws? Problems Re-Activating Magic Jack Using JAWS
Ray Campbell <ray.campbell@...>
Hello All:
I wonder if any of you have any tips for me on re-activating a Magic Jack account and assigning a new phone number on a Windows XP Computer running JAWS 12.0. Subject: RE: Research It and NFL NCAA scores Hello there; Here's a message received from freedom scientific regarding research it, On Behalf Of Eric Damery Sent: Wednesday, June 29, 2011 1:38 PM Greetings all, Nobody is more disappointed to have lost the MLB option in Research It more than I am. Especially when you consider the tight race in the American League East where my Sox are doing battle once again with the Yanks and the Rays. Anyway, here is the scoop on what has happened. About a week or 10 days ago, ESPN made modifications to how they expose sports results in an effort to block many different products that had been tapping into ESPN to get the info in real time and display it. We believe this was done in an effort to get more organizations to purchase access to the data and prevent anyone from getting it otherwise. This will not only impact MLB on Research It, but all of the sports. We have been investigating the MLB site itself and many other places like YAHOO but so far, have not found any site that exposes the information away that will work. We are also reaching out to ESPN and trying to explain who we are and what we are doing in order to see if we can get them to work with us. If any of you who use Research It to get access to daily scores would be willing, please write to them at: https://r.espn.go.com/members/contact/index Please be polite and remember, they are not targeting JAWS and Research It when they make these changes. It would be helpful to explain to them how beneficial it has been to use Research It in order to get the scores and schedules without having to weed through all the extra information presented on very busy web pages. I'm sure that together, we can all work this out and FS will get this fixed and working again as quickly as possible.
