Is there any JAWS setting I can turn on or modify so that when I open an
email in Outlook 2010 my cursor or focus goes automatically to the first
line of the text?

using two number pads

I asked about this the other day and only got one answer. I thought you
would all like to know that it is possible to use two number pads at the
same time with one turned on and the other turned off. This allows me to
use the jaws function keys and input numbers at the same time. I am
learning to use excel and inputting numbers is a lot more accurate with the
number pad. I can move between sheets now without having to toggle between
on/ off with the number pad. IT WORKS YEA!

Creating recovery disks

I need to create a set of recovery disks for my new HP Windows 7 computer. The instructions say to disconnect from the Internet, disable UAC, and close all programs while doing this. Do I really need to close JAWS or can I keep it running for the process? Thanks.

Thanks. Now need help with hard drive. This morning I can not see a hard drive that is connected to my PC. Yesterday it was OK. Any suggestion? I unplug it and plug it back. I checked all the cables and it is OK.

Is the most current version compatible with JAWS? Right now I'm using v3.07.1457 and it's been ages since I've updated because I updated once and found that the version I updated to wasn't yet compatible and had to downgrade to what I was using before. Thanks.

Lori,

No need to upgrade to JAWS 13 to use iTunes. There are much better scripts
than the ones provided by FS with JAWS. Google Blind Tunes and you'll find
free scripts developed by John Martin from this list. They work very well
even up to the latest iTunes release.

I just rang my supplyer and they say I need a new number and a new upgrade
to 13, so it means I'll have to pay more money just so I can use the latest

Encourage them to download and install either a demo of the commercial screen readers or one of the free ones, particularly NVDA. Encourage them to use it for their testing and development. I do this with all software companies. I get a mixed reaction. Some are more willing than others, some are even shocked a blind person is interested in their software lol! Seriously though, the more you do this to more companies the much likely they will realize how important accessibility is. Good luck.

Hi I'm upgrading from Jaws 11 to 13, but when I run the activation wizard
and activate by the net I get a box telling me the activation was
successful, then when I exit that another box comes up saying my
authorisation code was for an older version. I've checked my serial
number and everything is correct, so I'm not sure what else could be
going wrong. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks from Lori.
