Yes. Works very well. Voiceover is a good interface. And to keep this on a
JAWS topic, iTunes has a set of JAWS scripts written to make it more
accessible under Windows. Once you've mastered the iTunes interface, it's
relatively easy to learn how to create playlists in your library and sync
them to the iPod. But there's another good list that you should subscribe to
for these questions, since again this is straying away from the purpose of a
JAWS-related list. No, I'm not a moderator, in spite of others' attempts to
brand me in that fashion. I'm just a lister who knows that eventually our
moderator (or other moderator-wanna-bees) will chime in and complain about
the lack of JAWS relevance.

My name is Michelle Abadia and I've just subscribed to this list 15 minutes
ago!

I use Jaws version 13 on a Dell Inspiron laptop computer with Windows 7.
I've downloaded Itunes into it and all seems well. However, I would like to
know if there are accessible ipods out there and if anyone has manageed to
transfer songs easily with Jaws on the desktop and "Voice over" on the Ipod?
I understand that the 6th Generation Nano has "voice over"? That's what I've
read, at least.

Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated. Any experiences you may
have had will help as well.

Thank you so very much.

Sounds in Word

donnie harris <harris.donnie@...>

I wasn't talking about the properties that is another area, what I'm talking
about is the property sheet. I don't have my other lap top handy but if you
look under tools then if options are under tools press enter on that and
then tab tab, I think that there are 6 different tabs within this property
sheet of word but anyway one tab or the other does have this option to
either turn it on or shut it off or as well you may also import sounds here
as well. I'm just not sure if options is under tools for sure.

you use the menus to turn on voiceover. There are gestures you have to
learn, and they're not the same ones a sighted person would use. If you

Subject: Ipods and jaws

Greetings to all.

My name is Michelle Abadia and I've just subscribed to this list 15
minutes ago!

I use Jaws version 13 on a Dell Inspiron laptop computer with Windows 7.
I've downloaded Itunes into it and all seems well. However, I would like
to know if there are accessible ipods out there and if anyone has manageed
to transfer songs easily with Jaws on the desktop and "Voice over" on the
Ipod? I understand that the 6th Generation Nano has "voice over"? That's
what I've read, at least.

Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated. Any experiences you may
have had will help as well.

Thank you so very much.

thank you.
in my opinion, this is extremely relevant to jaws. i'll need to know what happens on the screen of the laptop in order to know what I'm doing. besides, it was FS who suggested I joined this list for such questions. they couldn't give me helpful answers on the matter.

Thanks again.

Yes. Works very well. Voiceover is a good interface. And to keep this on a
JAWS topic, iTunes has a set of JAWS scripts written to make it more
accessible under Windows. Once you've mastered the iTunes interface, it's
relatively easy to learn how to create playlists in your library and sync
them to the iPod. But there's another good list that you should subscribe to

I have a PC with iTunes and an iPod touch. I The iPod is accessible, once
you use the menus to turn on voiceover. There are gestures you have to
learn, and they're not the same ones a sighted person would use. If you
connect your iPod to a PC, wired or wireless connection, you can synchronize
what's in your ITunes PC and iTunes, IPod.

Re: eBay and Webvisum

Robin Frost <robinni71@...>

Hi,
I wasn't sure anyone had mentioned this previously but I just found that the EBay audio captcha isn't in fact broken at all. It merely has changed so that now it's making use of the QuickTime player. If that is present on a machine it'll work just as it always did playing the sound on demand.
I hope that is of use to someone.

Below are slightly edited instructions that Alex Wallace posted on the
Webvisum Discuss list. They should be useful for JAWS users.

a few days ago, I wrote to the list, asking if Webvisum could be adapted to
work with eBay's CAPTCHA system. Due to the audio CAPTCHA system not
working, it wasn't possible to contact sellers without sighted help. I just
spoke to eBay regarding problems paying for an item, and they gave me useful
information which I thought I would share with the list. it was a nightmare
getting to talk to a live person, took me nearly an hour but I managed it,
they hide there phone number well.

they are going to ask about getting the audio CAPTCHA system fixed, but they
say it is possible to get direct contact information for sellers if you
click the right links.

1. Go to the eBay homepage, then look for a link called advanced.

2. Click it, and you are taken to the advanced search options.

3. Click the link called find contact information.

4. Enter an item number and the user ID of the person who's contact
information you want, and click the search link.

5. the contact information is e mailed to you.

note. Your contact information is also e mailed to the item seller when you
do this.

Re: Great help from AVG

ptusing <ptusing@...>

Hi,
I wish to thank all of you who wrote me.

I somewhat compelled a supervisor who knows the development team to watch (listen) to me struggling with a
important dialogue box which she had taken for granted. She had never heard of speech software. She was shocked that by reviewing my selection sthat such an act nullified my hard work!

She felt badly. I pointed out that many elder users have problems in common with ours. I told her the dialogue box in my opinion assumed one used a mouse.
That thought had never occurredto her.

So she now has your comments.

I have asked her to stay in contact. i also know howto speak with her.

So maybe some advances will happen.

I gave her contact information for Freedom Scientific.

Again thanks.

If you call the tech support numberfor AVG and you get some very nice person whose English is a bit faulty who does not understand
speech software, please call that number back. Tell the operator that you needthe help of some one who isa manager or speaks better English. Iam not slamming any one nor do I intendto!
The point is that by moving higher, you can help make these points. The person you will be referred to will help in a sincere way. this is simply a comment and I hopeI offended no one!
By the way, I liketheir tech support.

I hope I have helped out as so many of you have helped me.

Hi this would be great if AVG is more accessible but as usual I don't
have a clew what to tell someone how to make it more accessible. If I
contact developers they always ask but what must we do and I can't
answer that because I don't know anything about programming or how a
application must be written to be accessible.
