holiday for some?
Dorothy <dorothy.ingram-gorban@...>
I think it is a Bank holiday for those of you in North America, and I wish
you well. I shall be off list for a while but not for a holiday. I hope soon to be back fitter than I left. I spoke to a friend last night about Jaws, and he is still surprised that next version is named jaws 13. I said we are hoping the fix for jaws 12 will be a good one, as some will not buy jaws13, surely they must do that. He said putting jaws 12 right may not be worth fs doing if "it needs a lot of coding they will expect jaws 13 to do that. I asked about windows 8 since I know he has a copy he said it is still very raw stage and he doubted it will be out for another year or more. Well that is just 1 mans opinion of course Thanks for putting up with my poor typing and lousy punctuation. Regards Dorothy.

Go to JAWS help hit letter Z (Startup wizard) Press Alt N twice until you hear virtual ribbon If checked, uncheck to turn off. Then Alt N to Finish This process should allow you to not have to deal with those ribbons. All applications that use ribbons will be affected by the above. Dorothy <Dorothy.ingram-gorban@...>
I think you can turn the ribbons off, some on this list will tell you what to do, I only know I had my Outlook express stuff backed up as dbx files, and of course Msoutlook archives as Pst, Import and export I grasped, but only thanked heaven my external drive had backed up so much,, I did ask an engineer how it could have backed up mail dated long before I ever heard of an external drive. He said" you do not understand the principles of backing up I most certainly did not understand how some were saved in triples, but think that is an option,it can be set to 1,2 or 3 good luck

Jaws and Openoffice
Christian <christian08@...>
Hi all,
Well, does anyone know if the latest version of JAWS, version 13 is working with the latest Openoffice version? I've read that one has to enable the accessibility option in OO in order for it to work proprely and then have Java as well as Java access bridge installed. Does anyone know if it is working? many thanks, Christian

Hi again,
Thanks for the answer. 1. Do you have a link to SlimFTP Server please? 2. Will I also could run SlimFTP on Windows 7 64-bit? If I search via Google, I can find a program developed in 2006. Very thanks. Regards, Anders ---northstar1950@okie.sytes.net wrote--- you can use slimftp and its free. it uses a script file like apache2 does and is very easy to setup. i run it myself. you could install the apache2triad and it includes slimftp as well as http, sql, and pyphon.

Re: JFW with a VPN?
Dave...
Ann,
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
Further to your question: To clarify the apparently side-tracked discussion of installing JAWS on both machines, Citrix, etc. When you have VPN installed on your machine for the purpose of gaining a connection to your work from home, all you need is your network logon name and either a static VPN numeric password, or one that is generated using the SoftID token. JAWS can read the temporary VPN login dialog. Once connected to your work server, JAWS reads just like any other internet connection. VPN *does not* rely on a pure graphical transfer of a remote desktop, as is done with WebEx, PC Anywhere, or other remote desktop sharing applications. VPN is jut a high-security password-protected Internet connection. Dave Carlson Sent from my Dell Latitude E6520 using Windows 7, San Francisco Bay Area
