I recall writing some stupid script for powerDVD. It wasn't the new one, but
I recall there were some shortcuts that you could use. Can't remember off
the top of my head what they were, but it worked with basic functionality.
No fast forward or rewind or anything.

Re: Lost Menues

Dave...

Dave (grossoehme),

I suspect so, as MS intends to cover the entire world with ribbons some day.
But I didn't want to guess at an answer.

I further suspect that Mr. Fred Adams might havfe recently been confronted
(and confounded) by the ribbons and therefore wonders where all his friendly
"minues" [sic.]have gone.

We shall see, perhaps.

Hi David, Adrian, & Darran,

Thank you very much for your replies & input. From my understanding Fred is
not having any problems with Outlook 2010, just with the rest of the
operating system. I have sent Fred Darran's suggestion & asked him if
ribbons are used exclusively in Outlook 2010 as well. I'll let y'all know
what happens. Thanks again, take care.

web page software

C.E. Clute <tailskid@...>

To the Group:

I'm new here. I am a long time user of JAWS. I am now attempting to start an online business, although the exact nature of this has yet to be established.

However, I have found to my dismay that Freedom Scientific offers absolutely no advice on using JAWS with any of the numerous web design and content management packages available, other than Microsoft's long discontinued (and presumably obsolete) FrontPage software. I have had a somewhat lengthy email discussion with Freedom Scientifics' tech support, and they claim that the replacements for FrontPage, specifically "Expression Web," will not work with JAWS. They say that the only web design/content manager package that works "out of the box" with JAWS is Adobe's DreamWeaver software. And yet, FS gives no advice in the JAWS help files on how best to use JAWS with DreamWeaver as they continue to do with FrontPage.

I am presently evaluating a trial version of DreamWeaver CS5.5, latest release, as downloaded from Adobe's web site. I'm currently using JAWS 11, latest release, with Windows XP, SP3. I find that DreamWeaver and JAWS 11 do work together to some degree, but with annoying little issues on reading and editing.

Does anyone have advice on using DreamWeaver with JAWS? Is FrontPage still a viable option? How can I customize JAWS to work with DreamWeaver? Can you direct me to a web page & content manager program that will work properly with JAWS? Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Cordially,

Hi All,

I am posting this question for a fellow Jaws abuser, in an effort to get him
back up & running.

I am using windows 7, jaws 13.0 and outlook 2010 and I have lost my
minues in windows 7 for tools and tools options minue, the alt minue
and
applications minue. I have gone through my settings several times and
can't find anything. I have also rebooted a couple of times but no
luck.
Outlook 2010 seems to be OK as best I can tell. I will appreciate any
help on this as I am baffeled. Thanks much,

Re: Power DVD jaws script

Lisle, Ted (CHFS DMS)

That's a shame. You might try WinDVD. Like PowerDVD, it's a fairly
popular OEM, and also available at retail. I've been using it for 6
years now. One caveat, certain audio controls nestle in Media Center,
so don't look for them where the manual tells you to.

I recall writing some stupid script for powerDVD. It wasn't the new one,
but I recall there were some shortcuts that you could use. Can't
remember off the top of my head what they were, but it worked with basic
functionality.
No fast forward or rewind or anything.

Hi,

I use a program called jarte.com.

Works very well with my jaws version 12.70. I use the free version and while I have words I prefer jarte.

Hi Guys!
i'm new here and was wandering if anyone can help me resolve an issue or
suggest an alternative.
I am currently studying and my trial version of Microsoft office has
expired and i don't want to buy a license as college is expensive as it is.
I downloaded office.org as i used it before i became a JAWS user, but have
now found that JAWS does not work with it, like on the main screen where is
asks if you want to use a word, spreadsheet or presentation layout or open
an existing document all JAWS will say is link
and won't tell you what the options are
I'm using JAWS 11 and office.org 3.3.
is anyone ese having the same trouble or know of a free or cheap word
processing and powerpoint making software?
i hope my enquiry made sense
thanks in advance!

Re: JFW11 and Windows 7?

Dani Pagador

Hi, David.
Thanks for these links. I'll definitely be taking a good long look at them. I'm hoping there's something about getting Explorer to look like it does in XP, and also that in Windows 7 I won't have the problem of trying to select a file only to have Windows Explorer jump to somewhere else in the file list as I try to make my selection.

Hi, Everyone.
I'm finally making the transition over from XP to Windows 7, but am
using JFW11. Are there any tutorials online to help ease the transition?
And is there something I can do to make the Explorer view (where you go
to choose the file you want to open from a folder on your drive) look
like what it normally does in XP?
Thanks as Always,
Dani
