Ok never mind I figured out the problem. Apparently, the google tool bar snuck its way onto my system. I removed it and it resolved the problem.

jaws 10 menus not working

I'm using jaws 10 with internet explorer 8. For some reason, when I hit alt space to get the usual "restore," "minimize," "maximize," etc, menus aren't working. Jaws will say context menu, but when i hit x for maximize, for example, it won't do anything. even when i use the arow keys to scroll through the menu options jaws won't read them. this happens on i e when it's open. any help would be appreciated. She will get a sighter to come over to her apartment tomorrow morning ,so FS technical support can tell her sighter person what to do on her computer to activate the jaws. I am using Jaws 12,but my 20 or is it longer number is actually on the cd for Jaws 7, it needs to be noted and kept elsewhere. Odd it worked a day ago, that is why I thought of system restore.Seems to me you have nothing to lose by trying it anyway, can't you help her to download another spare speech engine?
