David <davidwhitehead1957@...>

Hello;
Give the following a try;

1, Open media player.

2, Press alt+t/o=tools/options.

3, press ctrl+tab until you land on the devices tab.

4, Next tab once to a list-view, where it shows your DVD drive, display and
speakers.
Arrow-down to speakers.

5, You now need to, tab twice to the properties button here you can press
either enter-key, or spacebar.

6, Now arrow to the sound card of your choice.

7, Press alt+A=apply the change you just made.
Or you simply could tab to okay press enter.

tab to the OK button.
Press enter again.
unload then restart media player so your changes can take effect.
So if you want jaws through a specific soundcard,
You need to go to,
Jaws/utilities/soundcard submenu,
Choose the soundcard which you wish to use for jaws.
So now you should have windows media use one card,
And jaws using another.
Hope this helps.

Dennis,

Welcome to the list.

Your post raises more questions than you may realize.

First, the option you are looking for in the insert-v quick settings dialog
is the first one that comes up on my system. I am using WordPerfect 12, JAWS
13 and XP.

Second, Corel has advised that neither your nor my version of WP will work
with Windows 7. I'd have to check, or you can Google it yourself, but the
earliest version that will is one of those WP X ones.

On your query about JAWS scripts for WP, they're automatically loaded when
you install JAWS. I am unaware of any independent scripts for WP and JAWS.
However, FS has provided decreasing support for the application. That said,
I have received promises from FS that once I finally upgrade to Windows 7,
they will provide support if I run into problems. Another lister recently
reported having some difficulties using WP with Windows 7. You could Google
for that message.

I skipped from WP 9 to WP 12, so I can't report if JAWS handled WP 10
differently. However, if you're able to obtain Version 12, I can confirm
that the option you seek is available. It may well be available for later
versions, too.

I'm glad to find another WP user. It's a wonderful program, and I dread the
day I might be forced to switch to the complexity of MS Word.

Hello Everyone,
I'm new to the list, and I could use some assistance. I am using Jaws 12,
and I need to use WordPerfect 10. In particular, I need to turn on the
WordPerfect feature in Jaws which will identify when the curser has crossed
into a new page or column of text. After pressing shift F1 twice while in
WordPerfect, the Jaws help for WordPerfect states that page and column
identification can be enabled by pressing insert V. and it should be listed
under the reading options. Unfortunately it isn't there. I also loaded Jaws
9 and 11, and it does not appear as an option in those versions either, even
though the Jaws WordPerfect help in those versions says it should be. I then
loaded Jaws 7, and the page and column option is available in that version
of Jaws. Ideally I would like to put WordPerfect on a Windows 7 computer,
but Jaws 7 will not work with Windows 7.
Does anyone know if there is something I need to do in the later versions of
Jaws to run with WordPerfect, which isn't documented? Also, are there any
Jaws scripts available to use with WordPerfect that might also solve the
problem? I greatly appreciate your time and assistance.
Warmest regards,
Dennis

Re: Jaws and WordPerfect

This may be your problem:
When you press insert f1 twice, you enter an html help mode.
Insert v in this mode does not offer the option you need.
Be sure to be in WordPerfect document mode before using insert v.
As Adrian Sprat writes, the option you want is the first one listed.
I tried this with WP12 and Jaws.12 and a multi-page multi-column and got announcements for both page and column positioning.

Hi folks,
Since someone recently posted some Outlook 2007 questions, I have a couple
of my own which have perplexed me recently.
1. I get a lot of e-mail from some listservs and I'd like to be able to
collapse conversations, which will make it much easier to get rid of them in

one fell swoop, but Outlook 2007 always tells me that that option is
unavailable. Why is that and how can I enable the ability to collapse
conversations?

2. I get my messages on more than one machine, including my iPhone, so I'd
like to use IMAP.
IMAP works great on my iPhone.
Even though I have the proper IMAP settings in my account on Outlook 2007,
the right server names, port numbers and security protocols, et cetera, I
can't get my mail when attempting to use IMAP with Outlook 2007. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Re: I can't access my some of my folders in windows live

David Bailes

Hi Pam,
do you mean that you can only see the inbox for each of your accounts, and not all the other folders?
If this is the case, then the folder tree is probably set to have a compact view. This is set using the Compact view button which is in the layout group of the view tab.
If you're not using the Jaws virtual ribbon, then:
1. press alt + v (or alt, then v) to move to the view tab name.
2. tab until you get to the compact view button. If jaws reads it as pressed, then press the button to turn the compact view setting off.

David,

If you're not feint of heart, then this tip from the Geek Zone may help.
Note that I haven't tried this myself, but I did go to the registry and
found the relevant key and looked it over. Registry editing is inherently
dangerous if you don't know what you're doing, so make sure to export a copy
before doing anything with it.

****:

If you take a look at this registry key, vista mail seems to write to it
every time a mail is sent out.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Recently Used Addresses

Close down vista mail entirely, remove all the entries on the right-hand
pane other than the (default) one, and then re-open vista mail. (mine has
one called
"a" and another called "MRUList".

takes several key strokes to bet the one she wants. The first ones that
come up she does not want to be in the contacts. She has deleted them from
the contact list but the keep coming up.

Does anyone know how to get the offending addresses from the computer?

All help appreciated.

Re: auto-fill in vista

David,

See if this works:

Tools/Options
Send Page
Uncheck Automatically complete e-mail addresses when composing

Then it won't try to complete them.

Now see if closing and then launching Windows Mail and rechecking
Automatically complete e-mail addresses when composing will cause the list
to flush.

Just a guess at this point, but worth a try.

Hello;

A friend is using Vista & Windows Mail. When she starts an email by typing
a letter The to box is populated with an address that she does not want. It
takes several key strokes to bet the one she wants. The first ones that
come up she does not want to be in the contacts. She has deleted them from
the contact list but the keep coming up.

Does anyone know how to get the offending addresses from the computer?

All help appreciated.
