Re: Go Transit's Website

David <davidwhitehead1957@...>

Hello there;
Well, here's how I do it;
1, I go to;
http://www.gotransit.com/public/en/travelling/accessibility.aspx

2, I bring up the links,
Hit the letter "g"=GoSchedules.
Press enter.

3, now I navigate on the page to:

Arriving at or departing from
Union Station,
Square One,
York University
or the
Airport

For example;
Let's choose;
Union Station.
Press enter.

4, now I navigate down the page,

Please note that we periodically adjust some schedules to meet seasonal
demand for service.
To access your Mini Schedule, choose your GO Station's first letter from
the list below. From there, make your specific selection. All easy-read
schedules
are in pdf format.
To access information about your station such as ticket sales hours,
parking facilities, and connecting transit, see
Station and Stops.
For example;
I choose the letter "h"=Hamilton.
Press enter.
Now the fun starts.
Now I navigate and see:
Hamilton GO Centre
Hunter St. E. & James St.
This is the one, so I press enter.
Now the PDF loads;
Here's the information;

Hi all,

I live in Toronto, scarcely 500 metres from the Danforth station (the sounds

from the trains accelerating out of the station are a regular part of our
sound environment.)

I managed without difficulty to download and run the .pdf file for the
Danforth Station, but found it impossible to read it in such a way that I
could figure out the schedule for any particular trip.

I don't use the GO trains when alone, but only with my wife, who can see
where we are going. And we probably make fewer than one trip per year.
Chris, perhaps you should lodge a complaint with GO Transit about the
accessibility problems with their website, but I suppose you should make a
suggestion or two as to how it may be improved. As with so many people, it
probably hasn't really occurred to them that a visually impaired person
might want to use the website.

Good luck!

Hi folks.

If any of you are in Ontario Canada, have you had any luck looking
up a Go Train schedule on:
http://www.gotransit.com/publicroot/en/schedules/lstser.aspx?New=Y

That page seems completely unworkable. No links buttons or list
boxes to select train service, starting or ending points, whether
you want a web or pdf schedule etc.
I'm just wondering if I've missed something obvious.

Another page on the same Website offers mini-schedules as
downloadable pdf's, but when looking at one of those, I could not
determine which were departure locations and which were arrival
locations.

Hopefully someone has had better luck than I.

Hi Tom. Interesting. I tried enter on those graphics, and simulated left mouse clicks, but I didn't try the space bar. I'll give that a shot.

I removed jaws 5.0 from my friend's computer and now it is asking something about video intercept when the computer boots up. Also when he enters outlook express and tries to send an e-mail message, it defaults to the edit field and neither of us can get to the "to" field. Any help appreciated.
Thank you,

Tom,

Try if you can use nlnotes.exe to start Lotus notes insteat of notes.exe.
You have to change the shortcut.

various trategies for using Jaws with it not to work in many instances.

For example, when I now go to my e-mail inbox, and hit enter on a message
from my message list, I can't read down through the message. My PC cursor
stops at the text of the message, and will not go any further. The only way
I can read the message is to pretend that I am replying to it, after which I
can scroll down through the message's initial text.

In addition, I'm finding it next to impossible to find and access
attachments from the various e-mails I receive.

I have called FS about this, and they have not been very helpful. I think
this is because Lotus Notes is not an e-mail program with which they work
every day.

I have consulted the Jaws Help Topics on Lotus Notes, and it seems as though
I have things configured as they suggest.

I am using Jaws 13.0.924 with Windows 7 at the office.

Does anyone have any Jaws scripts for Lotus Notes, or any helpful hints for
optimizing Jaws with it?

Thanks for whatever info or thoughts you can provide.

Sincerely,
Dr. Tom Behler from Michigan
