Bob,
It's called the Freedom Import Printer on your list of printers after pressing Ctrl+P. select it and you will eventually end up in Openbook as it reads the file and converts to readable text. if you have open book, then use that to scan and read your pdf file. once opened, if you go to "control and P" and then go to free printer(think it is) then proceed to scan open book should read your pdf file. at least it has been working for me that way. sorry for the mix up sugar 'Be Blessed ~Sugar

JAWS won't start automatically
Marquette, Ed <Ed.Marquette@...>
My ThinkPad 410 died hardly 60 days after being converted to Windows 7. It was actually a Windows 7 machine in its infancy, but our IT Department laid down an XP Image. On August 2 we moved up to Windows 7 (and I was starting to like it).
Well the hard drive died, and now, I have a ThinkPad 420. The IS department installed JAWS when I was not around. That person apparently didn't think it was important for Windows to come up talking. So, for the past couple of days, I've booted up in silence; however, I've tried repeatedly to set JAWS to load automatically at log-on. I've read the help file. Since I am not an administrator, I cannot check the box that says load at log-on. The JAWS help, however, says that isn't a problem. Under "load after log-on (and yes, it does say "after"), I'm to select the "always" option. Unfortunately, I do not have an "always for this user" option. I have only "never" and "all users." I get a very uncomfortable feeling as I type in my password into silence and HOPE all goes well. Anyone on the list have any suggestions? I.
