JAWS 12

Donna Vesely

Hi I was wondering if anyone knows if JAWS 12 works with the software Microsoft
Expressions Web and Design. My student will be using this program next year.
Thanks.

Using Yahoo's New Mailbox using JAWS

Rick Miller

I am aware of the shortcuts that Yahoo has created for its new mail structure. But where I am having trouble is getting to the table of messages. When I sign into Yahoo mail, just hitting the letter M does not take me to the table of messages in my inbox. Am I doing something wrong? If so, what? Have any of you managed the new Yahoo mailbox successfully? Perhaps you could give me some tips. Also, is there a way to turn the toolbar in Yahoo Mail off?

Re: Using OCR in Jaws 13?

Soronel Haetir

You have to have the application display the next page then trigger
the jaws OCR cycle again. The jaws OCR only works off of what is
actually on screen, it has no knowledge of the underlying document
that is being read.

For large documents or where quality matters the jaws OCR is not
really appropriate, there are far better tools for those cases, but
for the cases of PDFs that are a few pages long or graphical
installers it works pretty well.

Hi David,
unfortunately you won't find them all. For example on the view tab, you won't find the compact shortcuts button and the status bar button.

Hi David,
just to point out that in general, using right arrow to move through the
controls on a tab isn't a good idea. It works for these particular cases,
but in general the controls on a tab can include groups of controls that are
laid out as either columns or rows. When this is the case, then moving
through the controls using right arrow misses out some of the controls. In
contrast, tabbing through them aways goes through all of the controls. In
fact on the view tab, if you right arrow, you won't be able to find all of
the controls on that tab.

Try the following; Note; These instructions assume that you don't have
the jaws ribbon feature turned on.

Yu need to:
Go into the view menu,
Set the;
Message list drop down;
So,
Alt+v=view,
Down arrow once,
Right arrow until you hear;
Message list drop down,
Press enter.
Now tab and select, one line view press enter.

Next,
Alt+v=view,
Down arrow once, right arrow until you hear; Reading pane drop down
press enter.
Now tab to off, press enter.

Next,
Alt+v=view,
Down arrow once,
Right arrow until you hear;
Calendar pane,
If it says,
Calendar pane pressed,
Press enter this turns off the calendar pane.
By the way, there are key strokes to do this, however, I thought it
best for folks to learn how to navigate the menus.

Bill and everyone who has a GMail email account:

Go to the place in your email client program where you enter your name and
password, for example, in Outlook Express, you do this on the "Servers" tab
page.

Locate your user name, tap the HOME key, to move the cursor to the beginning
of your log in name and type "recent:" (without the quotation marks. now,
when you send messages to anyone, you will receive a copy of that message in
your inbox.

Hey folks,

The last few days I've had something a bit odd happening when I send
messages to this and other listserves. Apparently my messages are getting
through but I'm not getting my own message back from the listserve. As
noted, my messages are apparently getting to others on the list, just not
appearing for me.

Wondering if anyone might have a clue as to what could be causing this
result. It's certainly possible that I've inadvertently changed something
in
my rules or other settings but nothing consciously and I can't find
anything
out of order. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I'm using Win 7 64; Outlook 2010; and latest build of JAWS 13.

Thanks.

Hi everyone,

I have a question about ELearning tools.

I work for a gov department in Australia and we are looking for a tool
to develop our Learning Management System online.

Do any of you know if Metamorphosis works with Jaws? Also how about
Articulate Storyline?

Any information is appreciated. I've been online to both sites but there
doesn't seem to be any accessibility information anywhere; so I have
tried to find answers just haven't been lucky.

Also, is Microsoft project accessible?

Sorry for the many questions, but I'm new to all of this stuff and want
to get it right.

Many thanks for any assistance you wish to offer.

It's mostly a matter that the plugin availability is not as great for the 64
bit version as 32 bit. So it depends a great deal on what websites you
visit and what plugins those sites require.

For instance I use a subscription only Microsoft site that requires use of a
particular plugin, but that plugin is not available in a 64 bit version.
