Re: New scripts for copytrans manager ready for testing troubleshooting

Dave...

Rob,

Well, so far this is a useless program. I have the iPod Nano 6 Generation
and it's not even supported. Here's what I get:

Warning
iPod Nano 6G "DAVE'S IPOD"(J:) is not fully supported yet.
Changes to iPod Nano 6G "DAVE'S IPOD"(J:) are not possible.
Yes No

But aside from that even with the scripts installed, none of the hotkeys
work at all. Then I tried to download the CT XML from dropbox and I get the
message:

The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error
and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

So what testing do you need done?

So far no testing is required. It doesn't work at all.

Windows 7 32-bit
JAWS 13.0.718

I dont want to upset people on the list, so please email me offlist at
musicmaker365@gmail.com
I dont know a lot about jaws scripting, so anyone who does, please help!

for those of you with problems here are some things to try.
first, do you have the scripts installed?
while in the program, turn on keyboard help with insert+1.
now press the hot keys:
ctrl+1,ctrl+S,ctrl+D,ctrl+F.
if jaws tells you the functions of those key strokes, the scripts are
installed.
OK, now you can exit keyboard help with insert+1.
remember to have the copytrans window maximized and your iPhone iPod or
iPad connected.

if Jaws want read the list items,
import this settings file:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3387062/ct%20settings.xml
after that, if jaws does not read the list items,
while in the program, press ctrl+Insert+H
to set foreground and background colors.
if you continue to have trouble with windows 7,
right click or use the applications key on the copytrans manager.exe
file and choose troubleshoot compatibility.
for help importing the settings file, see below.
While in the copytrans manager, press ctrl+Tab
to get to settings,
tab to show welcome window on startup and uncheck it.
then tab to advance settings
press enter to open it.
then tab to import to choose the
ct settings.xml
Once you find the CopyTrans Manager settings.xml file,
enter on it to select it.
now you should be back on the import button, press alt+F4. then ctrl+Tab
to get back to the main tab.

Hot keys
press ctrl+D to move to the device list
ctrl+S to search
do not hit enter after typing your search, press ctrl+F to get the results
ctrl+F focus on the file list.
You can also use the applications key when focused on items such as
music, playlists and devices.
Ctrl+1 opens the command menu
You can also get to the add files, or open window, by pressing the
applications key while focused on the file list. its the second option
from the bottom.

Thanks,
Rob

Dave,
I'm not familiar with that particular program; I have a similar one made by Cucusoft. I would assume that it would stay on the screen after you start it, but wouldn't show you much without a device connected.

Dave,
What other Apple products do you have? I would think that it would also
work to transfer music, etc., to an iPod Touch or an iPad, since the
software running on these devices is essentially the same.

New scripts for copytrans manager ready for testing troubleshooting

Rob <musicmaker365@...>

I dont want to upset people on the list, so please email me offlist at
musicmaker365@gmail.com
I dont know a lot about jaws scripting, so anyone who does, please help!

for those of you with problems here are some things to try.
first, do you have the scripts installed?
while in the program, turn on keyboard help with insert+1.
now press the hot keys:
ctrl+1,ctrl+S,ctrl+D,ctrl+F.
if jaws tells you the functions of those key strokes, the scripts are installed.
OK, now you can exit keyboard help with insert+1.
remember to have the copytrans window maximized and your iPhone iPod or iPad connected.

if Jaws want read the list items,
import this settings file:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3387062/ct%20settings.xml
after that, if jaws does not read the list items,
while in the program, press ctrl+Insert+H
to set foreground and background colors.
if you continue to have trouble with windows 7,
right click or use the applications key on the copytrans manager.exe file and choose troubleshoot compatibility.
for help importing the settings file, see below.
While in the copytrans manager, press ctrl+Tab
to get to settings,
tab to show welcome window on startup and uncheck it.
then tab to advance settings
press enter to open it.
then tab to import to choose the
ct settings.xml
Once you find the CopyTrans Manager settings.xml file,
enter on it to select it.
now you should be back on the import button, press alt+F4. then ctrl+Tab to get back to the main tab.

Hot keys
press ctrl+D to move to the device list
ctrl+S to search
do not hit enter after typing your search, press ctrl+F to get the results
ctrl+F focus on the file list.
You can also use the applications key when focused on items such as music, playlists and devices.
Ctrl+1 opens the command menu
You can also get to the add files, or open window, by pressing the applications key while focused on the file list. its the second option from the bottom.

Thanks,
Rob

Hello,
I use Jaws with Book share all the time what do you need?
Use heading level navigation and you should be good. I don't use their readers though. I download their BRF files, open them in Duxbury, then translate them.
It works pretty well!

Dave,
What other Apple products do you have? I would think that it would also
work to transfer music, etc., to an iPod Touch or an iPad, since the
software running on these devices is essentially the same.

Bob,

Interesting. I hope I remember your tip the next time I try one. My brain is
getting a bit old and leaky these days. Leaky these days. Did I just repeat,
repeat, myself?

Good news for screen reader users. I didn't know there were shortcut keys
to skip back and forth in Youtube videos. I tried it today and it works.
We do have to turn the virtual pc cursor off first (jawskey z), but that is
so much easier than trying to rout the Jaws cursor to the slider and click
on it to activate it so that the arrow keys work. Then you can also press k
to pause and resume.

Don't know if extra steps are also needed with other screen readers.

It appears the j, k , and l shortcuts only work when I am on Youtube. I tried playing a Youtube video imbedded on another site and the keys did not work.

Re: New scripts for copytrans manager ready for testing

Dave...

Oh. I thought this was an application to allow using iTunes with any Apple
product.

Was your iPhone connected?
If so waiting in about 10 or 15 seconds to give the iPhone time to connect
Read the status line
If you hear the word help
It has not connected yet
When it has connected Press ctrl 1

Rob,

Not sure what this is all about, but the program does not run past the
main/settings/information tabs. Completely stuck there. What the heck is
this supposed to actually be doing? Yes, I do have iTunes installed.

Windows 7 32-bit
JAWS 13.0.718

Subject: New scripts for copytrans manager ready for testing

Dear List,
I have been going crazy trying to figure out why I can use this great
program and others are having problems.
So I have redone the scripts. they no longer depend on frames.
They have been tested on Windows 7 & Windows XP.
Using Jaws 11 and Jaws 13 32 and 64 bit.
Please run the copytrans manager window maximized.

if you need to download the latest version of copytrans manager use the
below link:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3387062/CopyTransManager.exe
get the new scripts at:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3387062/new%20copytrans%20scripts.zip
If you do not have iTunes installed, you will need the copytrans drivers
so that your iPhone will be recognized.
get the drivers at:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3387062/CopyTransDriversInstaller%20v1.013.exe
for help email me off list at
musicmaker365@gmail.com
If you dont know what copytrans is,
it is a free program that allows you to add music, playlists, ringtones,
and videos to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod without using iTunes.
