I had some success with this tuner. The software was JAWS accessible but it
takes a little exploration to learn the ins and outs of it. For example,
after using the JAWS Cursor to set recording schedules, I discovered that
all I really needed to do was use shift+tab to move back through the forms.
Once I knew that the program scheduling became a breeze.

You can get more information at www. Hauppauge.com

Hope this is useful.

Re: Eudora 7.1.0.9 Download Link

Ben Humphreys <brh@...>

To the best of my recollection, Eudora supported three modes of operation: a slightly crippled light mode, a more functional sponsored mode with ads, and a full mode which cost money but was free of ads and contained all functionality.

To enable full mode, click "Payment and registration" on the Help menu and from there you can enter a registration code to unlock the full mode.

When Qualcom discontinued Eudora development, they released a generic registration code, provided below, to unlock full mode without payment.

I have had no experience with the unlock procedure but have installed Eudora on a number of computers. It has always worked for me! I've not taken any of the extra things that are offered and I have wound up with a working Eudora with a short cut on the desktop. So you would likely be okay with the installation. And great for a person's self confidence.

Hello Ben and all,

I would regard myself as a computing beginner in many ways, so please forgive me if this sounds rather simple. I have 2 questions:

1. Does the link given for Eudora below, download the program to the Desktop, to be installed later, or does the link initiate the installation process? My reason for asking is, that if it is the latter, and something goes wrong, I have to wait quite some time before sighted assistance can rescue matters. My one and only previous attempt to install a program failed badly, causing total laptop failure, which sighted help eventually put right.

2. What does the phrase, "unlock the full mode", mean, and as this sounds like action must be taken, can you outline the stepsplease?

Paul Benson.

Bill,

While Eudora lives on in open-source, the last version produced by
Qualcom is Eudora 7.1.0.9 and that version is very accessible with
JAWS, something that I do not believe is true of the newer
open-source versions.

Happily, Eudora 7.1.0.9 works fine with Windows 7 and Qualcom has
graciously provided the following code to unlock the full mode without cost:

RegFirstNamePro= Paid_Mode_No_Support
RegLastNamePro=Without_X1_Search
RegCodePro=4352-4846-7641-3881

You may download Eudora from

Re: calcuator

Ben Humphreys <brh@...>

It's a valid JAWS question because much of the functionality of the calculator is locked away behind mouse clickable buttons on the display. Fortunately, there are about 90 keyboard shortcuts available to overcome this problem.

See the following article on how to locate these keyboard shortcuts

http://superuser.com/questions/274264/windows-calculator-shortcut-keys

Briefly, hitF1, tab to Shortcut Keys and hit Enter, then tab around until you get to the windows calculator shortcut keys, which contains a table of 2 columns by 90 rows, at least in Windows 7 help.

MSOutlook, will ask you, if you want to work in safe mode, especially, if

Generally, if you say yes to work in safe mode, outlook will perform

However, if you close outlook, and restart the program, outlook will

However, working in safe mode from boot up, is way different, you have no

Re: Extracting text from powerpoint presentation

Kirsten Edmondson <kirsten.edmondson@...>

If you open the powerpoint and then go to the save dialog box, tab to the
type/format box and arrow down you should be able to save it as an RTF doc
which will give you all the text from all the slides in the right order.
Before I discovered this I used to have to copy and paste the text out of
the slides, but this is much quicker. I use 2007 so if that is what you have
it definitely works.

Can someone tell me the easiest way to extract and save the text from the

I have a powerpoint presentation here from work, and all I need is the text

As best as I can tell, the presentation is done in Office 2007 powerpoint
format.

Thanks!

Re: Extracting text from powerpoint presentation

Ann Byrne

The very best way is to use Jamal Mazrui's TextPal. The next best way is to f6 to outline view, select all, then copy and paste it to a new document.

Good luck!

If you have an Iphone I can really recommend Remote Potato. It allows you to now only control your Media Centre but also watch all your Recorded TV and other media from your PC actually on your iphone anywhere in the world. Works amazingly well and the developer has bent over backwards to accommodate accessibility improvements which I've suggested. The app now plays the audio described tracks as well so I now have access to audio described TV recordings which is great. I've paired that up with an FM transmitter for my Iphone and now I have good sounding TV where ever there is a radio or I use headphones.

Hi Marilyn, if I may answer you.

yes it does,
I have a digital tuner card running with windows 7 media centre & it
works great,
you can also download a free program called MC buddy that will edit
all the adds out for you.
The MC Buddy, first converts the program you have recorded then
removes the adds out.

So you cant watch it add free strait away, you need to wait for the
MC buddy to do its job.
Normally only an hour or so after the program has been recorded.
Hope this helps
Best wishes.

Hi,
you can use Media Player Classic. Note: script is available.

If you're interested, please inform me about that.

Thanks!

Can anybody recommend a small, fast and flexible music player that is

Is Foobar 2000 accessible?

If it were me I'd go down the route of getting Windows 7 as the media centre

in that is very accessible and does some amazing things. Most, if not all TV

tuners will work with it.

Yeh I'm using a satelite tuner card so I use my old sky satelite dish to pick up Freesat channels. I'm using a Black Gold internal card. I don't really know much about TV cards but as far as I'm aware most if not all tv cards support media centre.

Hi,
I had sent this through before, but not sure if it got through.
So sorry if I am repeting myself.
But I think its really really really important that we all understand.

for those of you who are new to using safe mode.
Please understand that while in safe mode or safe mode with networking,
your securety programs such as anti virus & firewall & so on will not be running.
Safe mode is designed to trouble shoot & repair issues that can not be carried out in normal operational mode.
For example, if you go into safe mode with networking & brows the internet or check emails & so on, you will have no protection from your security software because it will not be running in safe mode.
So again please be careful with what you are doing while in safe mode.

Best wishes
