Re: [Bulk] JAWS and Microsoft Active Directory Login

David <davidwhitehead1957@...>

Hello I believe the reason why your not seeing that box is? You're using XP.

Start jaws automatically....

Start JAWS Options
Start JAWS at the Logon screen

Start JAWS after logon for all users
Start JAWS after logon for this user: Always
When checked, JAWS will be loaded at the logon screen.

OK Cancel

Chris,

Well, in my case it's not a button but a checkbox. My stubbornness in
sticking with 12.0.525 may have kept me from that little gem, or perhaps my
continuing to work in XP Pro.

In either case, I still believe it's a timing issue. The logon dialog comes
up visually many seconds before JAWS decides to stand up, shake off, yawn,
shake again, and start speaking.

Hello Graham;

Well, I'm not experiencing the issue your speaking of.
I to went to the desktop, highlighted wlm,
And brung up the properties, and tabbed to run combo box, and chose maximized.

If this isn't working for you,
Have you tried a program called autosizer?

This will automatically maximize the program for you.

Perhaps if you tell us what version of WLM you currently have, and if
possible, what version is being pushed out? How can we know anything without

I have installed the essentials earlier, so I am already using ribbons.
However, it seems that there is a new update available and that's why I
wanted to make sure it works with JAWS.

Many thanks for your reply,

Hello there;

Well, yes the latest version of windows live essentials does work with jaws
12, however, just be aware, the latest version will incorporate the ribbon,
so you'll need to learn how to navigate the menus,
Other then that? It's fine.

actually it may well be there still, just hidden. not long ago I used this
link to get a "no longer available" copy of an earlier jaws:
ftp://ftp.freedomscientific.com/users/hj/private/WebFiles/JAWS/J12.0.525-32b
it.exe
remove the blank spot where the thing gets broken in the email(if it does)
then modify the numbers and bit type to what you need and give it a try.

it was exceedingly amusing I got contacted by fs on a complaint I filed, and

was told there was no fix, of course, I said I figured out as much and was
there to urge them to get to fixing it, and that I had downloaded an earlier

version from them and removed the latest and replaced it with it. and the
tech said it was not there, I said oh hell its not!, he said it was not, I
said try this link (the above URL) after a couple goads he did, and the
next thing I hear is "what the..." (long silence) "where did you get this
information?"

Subject: JFW 12 with flash

Hi. I recently upgraded to the latest version of JFW, 12.0.1169. I am
having
an annoying problem with a web site, and I hope maybe someone will have
some
suggestions. I am trying to use slacker.com to create a radio station. In
JFW 12.0.522 the unlabeled buttons were spoken and I could activate them
with no problems. I need to be able to get to these buttons to add artists
or play stations. Unfortunately, I upgraded to the latest version of JFW,
and now the unlabeled buttons are not spoken any more. I used NVDA to see
if
maybe something had changed on the slacker web page, and it has not. NVDA
will say clickable where the unlabeled buttons are, but I would like to be
able to use JFW. I no longer have the installer for the version I was
running before the upgrade, and it is no longer available on the fS web
site. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what else I can try? I am
also
running the latest version of Adobe flash player 10.3, and I am using
Internet Explorer 8. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Ted,

I'm not at all surprised with FS not being interested in things XP. That

would be fine if they had left us with a functional, stable version to
work

Shame on us who continue to use XP.

These last two releases just don't play well with 2007. I'd love to
hear from anybody off list who runs this version of Office on 11 or
higher with XP. I believe the problems you guys are talking about are
with later OS's, but an FS developer told me the company had little
remaining interest in XP performance.

Michael,

You may benefit by updating to 12.0.1669. However go to
http://www.freedomscientific.com and check the "What's new" and
"Enhancements and Fixes" files to make sure that WLM has been covered in
releases after 12.0.525. I vaguely recall that there have been some
attempts

to make things better for WLM.

However it's at the expense of screwing up Excel 2007, so be wary before
you

update.

Re: [Bulk] [Bulk] jaws not reading next msg after ctrl-d delete

Dave...

Ted,

I'm not at all surprised with FS not being interested in things XP. That
would be fine if they had left us with a functional, stable version to work
with XP -- but they have not. They appear to be leaving the sordid mess
behind and headed to new horizons.

That problem with excel 2007 can be fixed. I did it by removing JAWS 12
completely. This includes shared files and user settings. Then I
Installed
the latest version. My Excel works fine now.

Michael,

You may benefit by updating to 12.0.1669. However go to
http://www.freedomscientific.com and check the "What's new" and
"Enhancements and Fixes" files to make sure that WLM has been covered in
releases after 12.0.525. I vaguely recall that there have been some
attempts

to make things better for WLM.

However it's at the expense of screwing up Excel 2007, so be wary before
you

update.

hi guys:
the subject says it all, when I am in windows-live-mail in windows 7 and
using jaws 12, I used to hear the reading of the next msg automatically
when
I
hit ctrl-d to delete one. now, all of a sudden in the last couple of
days,
when I hit ctrl-d to delete a msg, I then have to hit insert-escape to
refresh
the screen before it will read the next msg? any one else seen this?
