they don't have to be the same. But the master computer has to be at least equal to the slave. So a JAWS 12 master could run a JAWS 11 slave, but not the other way around.

JAWS 13

Holger Fiallo <holgerfiallo@...>

I just finished listening to the podcast about 13. It looks good and it seen that they are working on making it much better. I like the OCR feature. I will let us see what is there in a picture with text. If you get a web page that has graphic with text and jaws can not read it because is not text but a picture of text the OCR will read it to you.

Jerry,
I have tried to use 2, and you can download the free versions of both, to try them.
One is called Family Tree Maker. And the other is called Legacy. I am not very good with either of them. But you can tab through all the fields and so on using JAWS okay, as far as I have done. I am still hoping to run into a hot shot with either of them to show me more of the ropes at family genealogy research.
I would love to hear that someone has developed scripts for JAWS with them.

If you are talking about ggenealogy record keeping programs like Family Tree Maker, I use Ancestral Quest which works very well with JAWS. You might want to post on Blind-genealogists@rootsweb to get other suggestions.

I do not think so it depends who is helping whom, it is I think best if the
person you need help from has a professional version only my experience
dorothy.

I understand that the versions have to be the same but how close do they
have to be? Do they have to be the same bill version?

what is important about tandem is that both version of jaws have to be the

Hi Mike. Yes, Jaws Tandom works as advertised.

There's a whole book in Jaws online help devoted to it, including a
frequently asked questions section, a welcome section etc. :)

Re: Podcast

Gerald Levy

Okay, listers, this is the one you've all been waiting for. In FSCast 58, Jonathan Mosen discusses the new features of JAWS 13 with Eric Damery and Dan Clark. The public beta is scheduled for release during the second week of September, so it should be out shortly. Very interesting.

Ok james just wanted to be sure, not long ago I explained to a youngman he
could not give his copy of jaws to his nephew, he said But I paid for it and

This isn't exactly an appropriate question for the JAWS list. You may want
to consider taking it to a more generalized technology list. For example,
the blindtech list.

on a cd called small business.,but the engineer said the 2 cds I had were
scratched use office 7 which you paid for when you bought the dell desktop
package. Regards dorothy
