Re: problem with Windows Contacts
David Bailes
Hi,
the following text is taken from this Jaws guide to windows mail: http://bit.ly/9b1QZX When Windows Explorer is displaying the Contacts folder, if the Preview pane is shown, then there's a bug in Jaws which causes Windows Explorer to hang/freeze when you move through the contacts in the Folder view. There are two ways of hiding the preview pane. The first is to hide the preview pane and the details pane for all folders: 1. Choose Folder Options on the Tools menu. 2. The Folder Options dialog opens on the General page, and first control is a Tasks group of radio buttons. Select the Use Windows classic folders radio button, and then press Enter to press the default OK button. The second way is to hide the preview pane just for folders which contain contacts: 1. Tab to the Organize button, which is the first control on the toolbar, and press it. 2. The Organize menu opens. Open the Layout sub-menu, and move to Preview Pane. If this is checked, then press Enter which changes it to unchecked and closes the Organise menu. David. original message: Hello, everyone, I am having trouble with JFW 13 and Windows Contacts. I am using Windows Vista. When I use JAWS with Contacts, I get, "This program is not responding." I am invited to close the program. This only happens with JFW. Has anyone ever experienced this, and how did you solve this problem?

Re: JAWS 13, and MS WORD'S "word count"

Hi Curtis & Kimber,
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
While in a Word document, try the keystroke control, shift, + G. You can also try the following; 1. While in the Word document you want the word count from, press Alt + T, for tools, arrow down to Word Count, & press enter. 2. Route the Jaws cursor to the PC cursor & press the page up button / key. 3. Arrow down 1 line at a time to get the word count & several other statistics for this document. Hope this helped. Take care. Mike

Don't know. Insert+G is the graphics labeler keystroke. Give it a try.

Need an Invitation
Robbie Curtis <essence64@...>
Hi Everyone,
A couple of days ago, I inquired about Solona and found out that it was no longer in service. I was then assisted by a couple of list members and was told that Webvisum is a good program to use for solving captchas. I downloaded Firefox and the Webvisum extension and found out that I need to be invited by someone before I can register. So, if there is anyone using this service, could you kindly send me an invitation as I don't know of any of my friends and acquaintances that are using it. If anyone could do this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Robbie J. Curtis essence64@earthlink.net "OOPS!
