Jaws13 not reading ribbons right in Woord2007

Gerardo Corripio <gera1027@...>

HI guys:

Anyone who use Jaws13 with Word2007 find that especially in the Microsoft
Office tab and the Start tab (it's in spanish Inicio I don't know in english
what's the word but it's after the Microsoft Office area and before the
Insert area in the ribbons) Jaws, at least on Windows xp, doesn't read the
ribbons right when I go with the tab?I have to put theJaws cursor and
left-click for the ribbon be read OK; even weirder activating the Virtual
ribbon also gives the same misread ribbon. I don't know if it's a Jaws
problem or an Office2007 problem, thus the question.

Gerardo

Kimsan is right in how to create one. Once created, then the other tabs
appear when the cursor is inside the table.

Look in the insert ribbon.

Once word is open, press alt, arrow right until you here insert and tab
until you hear the table option.

Etymology From French juxtaposition, from Latin iuxta ("near") from Latin
iungo ("to join") + French position ("position") from Latin pono ("to
place"). Noun juxtaposition (plural juxtapositions)

The nearness of objects with no delimiter. (grammar) An absence of linking
elements in a group of words that are listed together. Example: mother
father instead of mother and father (mathematics) An absence of operators in
an expression. Using juxtaposition for multiplication saves space when
writing longer expressions. collapses to . 2007, Lawrence Moss and Hans-Jörg
Tiede, Applications of Modal Logic in Linguistics, in: P. Blackburn et al
(eds), Handbook of Modal Logic, Elsevier, p. 1054 A fundamental operation on
strings is string concatenation which we will denote by juxtaposition.
The extra emphasis given to a comparison when the contrasted objects are
close together. There was a poignant juxtaposition between the boys laughing
in the street and the girl crying on the balcony above. (art) Two or more
contrasting sounds, colours, styles etc. placed together for stylistic
effect. The juxtaposition of the bright yellows on the dark background made
the painting appear three dimensional. (rhetoric) The close placement of two
ideas to imply a link that may not exist. Example: In 1965 the government
was elected, in 1965 the economy took a dive.

Brandon, as Dave Farber said, your messages are mercifully free of spelling
errors, which makes them much easier to read than many others posted online.
At the risk of beating a dead horse, are you able to maintain the standard
hand positions on the keyboard? If so, pressing the control key to silence
the misspelling, followed by the alt key to get to the suggestions list is
hardly any effort. Then it's a question of arrowing down the list until you
find the word you want. Usually, as you know, it's the first one.

Ed's method is intriguing, especially if you can wait until you've finished
a document and can scan it from beginning to end for doubtful spellings. I'd
just be afraid of being distracted by words being spelled out each time I
paused to think.

Even if I am not taking it as an educational process, the fastest way to do
spell check is hear the word spelled then hear the next word. For my fingers
to move to the tab key, then move to the alt c key just takes for ever.
I've heard my spell check spelling my words wrong for going on 12 years now
and my spelling has improved very little from those early days. I've taken
numerous spelling tests and countless people have tried helping me in
learning spelling, but my reflexes are just to spell the word wrong. I
believe that it's me hearing the word spelled over and over wrong in spell
check that is the answer. I looked at all the common factors and this spell

I want to try it and see if it works. Because if worse comes to werse it's

important to know how you're misspelling a word. If you're concerned about

Hello,
I'm wondering if there is a way in MS word to stop Jaws from spelling the
misspelled word in the spell checker? Because contrary to the goal of a
spell checker, hearing my misspelled word has just been enforcing me
misspelling it. I'm often in a hurry and I don't pay attention to the
difference between the two misspelled words. I'd like either to change the
order of words so I hear the option first then the misspelled word, or
taking the spelling of my word away and just have the spelling of the second
word. Preferably I'd like the first option, but I'd take either. This
constantly hearing my wrong spellings is not good!

Re: Balloons

Dave...

Juanita,

Yes, for XP you need to create and execute a file that will change a value
in your registry. Here's a complete text from an old E-Mail message
explaining how to do it, compliments of "The Elf" who once used to be on
this list.

Here is how to increase the time balloon tips stay on your computer.

Copy the below in note pad and save it. Now find the file you just created
and rename it to "changeballoontime.reg: and enter on it and say yes when
prompted if you want to add the information to your registry.

Copy what is between start copying and end copying; but do not copy the
words start copying and end copying.

start copying

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\TrayNotify]
"BalloonTip"=dword:0000000a

end copying

In Windows 7 it's under "Ease of Access". Type Ease of Access in to the

Near the end of the options that come up is a setting to adjust the time

I adjusted mine to 1 minute which gives me enough time to find them and

Adrian,

Actually I was pleased to have the juxtaposition of those names, so
absolutely no offense taken on my part. Of course, since we're already
picking on George, I'm sure he'll be upset that I cluttered his inbox
further with this reply.

Who is Dave Farber, anyone who read my post may wonder. It's a variation on
the problem Brandon was describing. I keep mishearing Dave's Swedish word
for "grandfather" and gave him the wrong name. But now George will
understandably be annoyed at my cluttering up his inbox. I just had to
apologize to Dave for an error made in haste.

Hello,
Even if I am not taking it as an educational process, the fastest way to do
spell check is hear the word spelled then hear the next word.
I looked at all the common factors and this spell
checker seems to be the common factor.
I want to try it and see if it works. Because if worse comes to werse it's
not going to hurt anything, but I really believe it will help.
If no one on here knows how to change this Jaws script I'll call FS.
Thank you,

I know you're using MS Word, but this post still applies. To achieve the
result you want, what I do in WordPerfect is press the control key to stop
the automatic spelling and tab to the suggestions list. If I want a
suggestion spelled, JAWS key+numpad 5 spells it out. That said, it's
important to know how you're misspelling a word. If you're concerned about
your spelling, I'd treat spell-checker as an educational gift and resist
rushing through it.

Hello,
I'm wondering if there is a way in MS word to stop Jaws from spelling the
misspelled word in the spell checker? Because contrary to the goal of a
spell checker, hearing my misspelled word has just been enforcing me
misspelling it. I'm often in a hurry and I don't pay attention to the
difference between the two misspelled words. I'd like either to change the
order of words so I hear the option first then the misspelled word, or
taking the spelling of my word away and just have the spelling of the second
word. Preferably I'd like the first option, but I'd take either. This
constantly hearing my wrong spellings is not good!
Thank you,

Hi Ted,
In Windows 7 it's under "Ease of Access". Type Ease of Access in to the
search box in the start prompt. In the Ease of Access Center go to "Make it

Near the end of the options that come up is a setting to adjust the time
that those balloons stay on screen.
I adjusted mine to 1 minute which gives me enough time to find them and
click on them.
