Subject: Libronix 3

I have used Libronix 3 Bible software sense Logos Systems first
released it.
Yesterday I must have unintentionally changed a setting because
it's not
working as it did. I did not download an update to Libronix so I
know it's
not that. I did update Vista and downloaded IE9 but don't know
why that
would affect Libronix.

I have screen echo set to "all". When I move the Jaws cursor
across a
highlighted item Libronix pops up the Bible reference, footnote,
etc.
associated with the highlighted text. Jaws reads the popped up
information.

Beginning yesterday, the popup window is appearing in the middle
of the
screen instead of the bottom and Jaws isn't reading it even though
screen
echo is still set to "all".

Does anyone who uses Libronix know what setting I've unwittingly
changed?

Thanks

Re: JAWS and facebook

Chris Smart <csmart8@...>

I'll add that Facebook is fairly busy and the pages have lots on them. You'll want to make use of your navigation quick keys to move to headings, edit fields, buttons, lists etc. In Jaws Help, you might want to check out the following, all inside the category "Using the Internet With Jaws".
Jaws Commands for HTML
Navigating Web Pages
Customizing Your Web Settings.

I'm not sure what to suggest. I find Facebook to be accessible.
You could try
http://m.facebook.com
the stripped-down version intended for mobile devices.
If that doesn't have enough features, you'll need to use the full version.

I've lately been using Internet Explorer 9 with Facebook, after finding things to be slow with Firefox.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the speaker info, and while trying your method, I found that I
have a secondary function key next to my window key bottom left of key
board. (from left to right: control, secondary function key, windows key,
alt, space bar). When I hold this secondary function key and press F11 it
increases volume, and doing the same using F12 it decreases, and then with
only using F13 and no other key it mutes jaws. holy cow! Let me bang my

Although I have jaws set up for laptop use, I can also use jaws key (insert)

the time.

Hello all, newby here,
I have just recently upgraded from windows XP to windows7, jaws 9 to jaws 12
and desk top to laptop, a learning curve for sure. Therefor, right now
questions will be very basic. I didn't see any rules etc for this list so
let me know if another list would be better.
Right now looking to find how to change volume of speakers on the fly. I'm
use to just turning a knob on my desk top speakers.

When I am downloading digital books from Library of Congress and I go to put
multiple books on my thumb drive, I always get a prompt saying there is
already a folder with that name and click folder I want to keep. I ignore
that prompt, because nothing seems to happen if I do click on it, just tab
to the button saying copy but don't replace, hit space bar, however, I am
constantly brought back to the same prompt until I keep tabbing until I
reach a button that says skip, and then the last 5 seconds of the download
to thumb drive finishes. All books end up on the thumb drive and able to
read just fine but what's up with this?

thanks
Dee

latest skype and Jaws 11

Jim L

Heya folks,

I was constantly reminded to update my skype to the latest version so I did
it, all seems to work ok with my Jaws 11 except I cannot quit out of the
program as I use to be able too, if one closes off the skype program there
still remains a skype icon in my system tray when one clicks on that the 2nd
time after closing off skype theres no list and my whole PC gos funny with
Jaws where I cant seem to access anything such as menu's etc and I need to
do a hard reset to reboot

Any help please I'd appreciate and a last version of skype that doesn't have
this quit problem where I cannt close the program off let alone it not
letting me access my PC as normal.

Cheers,

Jim

questions will be very basic.

All books end up on the thumb drive and able to
read just fine but what's up with this?

thanks
Dee

Some time ago someone recommended Talking desktop clock. I think it will do what you want. Only, I don't recall where I found it, hopefully someone else can point you in the right direction.

Subject: Timer Program that works with JAWS

Just came back from my physical therapist who has assigned me certain exercises. I also need to check my posture every 15 minutes. I could set Outlook reminders, but I would have to dismiss them, and that is a pain.
I'm just looking for something that will ring a little bell or, even better, prompt JAWS to say, "Remember to sit up straight and ..."
I guess I need my 5th grade teacher back.
Seriously, has anyone heard of such a program? One of my associates has a timer type program, but it is totally graphical for some reason, and JAWS won't read anything.
Any help would be appreciated.

I've been using Steve's Talking Clock for years.

http://clock.steve-audio.net/

It's versatile, Jaws-friendly, and features all kinds of sounds and voices. And best of all, it will do exactly what you want it to do.

I do not know what it is called exactly but we have these little small carry oven timers.
No access but you can memorize where the buttons are and keep on starting it at the time you set it up for.
It beeps like crazy until you go and hit stop. And it is ready to start again if you hit the start button.
Sometimes I use it myself just to keep myself from getting lost in space and losing track of time. Like to set for every 30 minutes or so.

Flat little things about the size of a credit card. They have a belt clip on them. Pretty handy. At kitchen stores I think is where my wife got it.

Hello there;

Not sure about this, but doesn't the accessible and webbie have a clock with
which you can set reminders, every 15 30 etc?
You can have chimes on or off?

Instead of trying to find a timer program that works with JAWS (I'm not
aware of any), why not just buy an inexpensive talking countdown timer from
a merchant like Future Aids? They have a neat little talking timer/clock
for only $13.95 with free shipping:

OneNote and JAWS

Dondi

Hi,

Does anybody know if OneNote works with JAWS? I'm trying to use OneNote 2010
with JAWS version 12. JAWS keeps saying Tree view item edit as I type in a
note.
