To basically answer your question, point webmasters to the w3c.or website
and the webaim.org website as a starter.

Then, they can look at the Freedom Scientific's documentation on Surfs Up
and the HTML Challenge.

Hi all I've asked this before but didn't really get good answers or
something helpfull anyway. I'm looking for some sorce some documents
or websites or whatever which could give web developers some pointers
on creating their websites in a way so that it's accessible with
screen readers. Stuff like what to avoid, how to code and how not to
code. I'm not in to development myself and understand very little of
it but want it for somebody else and for him to write the website with
me testing each part and him changing again simply takes too long. I
also sometimes email people even if it's big companies to ask them to
consider making their websites more screen reader friendly and some
sorces would help a lot because I don't always know what to tell them,
a lot of people are keen to change but once they ask me well how must
we do it, I can't really answer them because as I said I don't really
know anything about web design myself.

Re: jfw dropbox

Nickus de Vos <bigboy529@...>

Hi
I'm not sure how you tryed to invite someone, is it the same as
sharing a folder with someone? Because the way to do this is to open
the dropbox folder, then create the folder you want to share if not
already done, then write click or applications key on the folder, then
go to dropbox menu and select share. It will then take you to the
dropbox website where you can enter the persons email address to
invite them to the folder. Once they accept a coppy of the folder
which you created will appear in their dropbox folder and they can
view or use any file you place in that spesific shared folder or you
can get anything they place in the folder. A easy way or the way I
find easy anyway is to create folders with my and the other persons
name e.g. Nickus and Jack, I then share that folder only with jack,
this way I'm sure of what he gets and sees from my side and there's no
confusions and he doesn't get unnececery stuff on his pc which is not
intended for him, because once the folder is shared with him and you
put something in it, the content will automatically be downloaded on
to his computer.

Joni,
My advice is to always use the www.fsactivate.com site for any new
activations. Never had a problem with it. And now that you've done an ILM
you shouldn't need to use the CD again, since your 20-digit code is
incorporated into your operating system.

Hi, Adi.

What I wrote was, and is, true, a point I make only to minimize confusion
for anyone less familiar with the JAWS authorization process.

What you say here is a qualification, though I'm not quite sure what you're
getting at. Yes, if you've used up your allotted authorizations, you'll need
to go through the process that Joni described. But that's an exception, not
the rule.

They had me go to the fs activate website to do the authorization and it
worked out fine. She did not say why I could not do it the typical way.
Maybe it will work for me when I get 13.

Regarding the issue being discussed about re-authorizing and SMA's, I am
covered now through JAWS 15.

I will probably be back with some questions while trying to learn JAWS 12.
I am happy with its performance so far, but I know there are a lot of
changes I will have to get used to.

Joni,
My advice is to always use the www.fsactivate.com site for any new
activations. Never had a problem with it. And now that you've done an ILM
you shouldn't need to use the CD again, since your 20-digit code is
incorporated into your operating system.

I just talked to tech support and they resolved the issue. I have JAWS 5 on
my computer. I did download JAWS 12 from the Internet.

Re: Trouble authorizing JAWS 12

Adi Kushnir <adikushnir@...>

Hi,
You are not asked for authorization, because in your JAWS about dialog, it
knows that you have upgrades.
But, if you authorize JAWS before perchasing upgrades, and JAWS would show 0
upgrades remaining and you perchase the SMA later, you will need to
re-authorize it so it will recognize the upgrade.

Best regards,

Adi.

Adi,

Strange, but I find the same result as that of Adrian. Do not need to
re-authorize when upgrading to a new version.

However if you allow your SMA count to go to 0 then you will have to
re-authorize.

Hi, That's not true:
If you will perchase an upgrade to a later version of JAWS after installing
the current license, you must perform an update authorization, could be
found in the JAWS help menu.

Best regards,

Adi.

Thanks for giving us this update. You'll find when installing JAWS 13 that
the authorization that's now in your system will stay in effect for it and
future versions. You won't need to use the authorization disc, although you
should keep it somewhere safe, or go to the website for it. From here on,
you'll need to authorize only if you use JAWS on another system or if you
upgrade your current system, which includes by adding memory.
