Help with Dropbox please
Zel Iscel
Hi there,
Apparently my Dropbox account has been disabled.
Yet I’ve got an email that is associated with my disabled account saying that my subscription will be renewed on the 23rd Jan. I want to cancel my subscription but can’t access my account because it’s disabled.
Btw: I don’t know why my account has been disabled. Numerous attempts at contacting Dropbox have failed – they have not bothered to reply.
Does anyone have any idea how this issue can be resolved. I certainly don’t want to pay for another year of Dropbox.
Thanking you in advance. Zel

Re: Interesting Microsoft Word Issue
Adrian Spratt
Tom,
I’ve given up on getting word counts out of the insert-3 status line command. There was a way to restore that detail to the status line, but in my experience it didn’t stick. Instead, I press F6, then arrow down two or three times.

Sorry for the confusion.
I mis-stated my original action.
When I hit control end to get to the bottom of the document, and then hit insert numpad 3, I can no longer get information about the file, such as number of pages, etc..
When I do this, I now hear focus, zoom in, zoom out, zoom 100%..
Does anyone know what might have changed here, and how I can get my original document file information back?
I’m using Jaws 2021, Windows 10, and Office 365 here.
I wonder if this is the result of yet another Microsoft 365 update?
Thank you!

Re: Interesting Microsoft Word Issue
Richard Turner
Once again, I agree with Brian, JAWS coming up with costom keyboard commands that do not add anything that the native program does already with existing shortcuts is annoying at the very least. People end up not knowing that the insert key exists because Jaws
calls it the Jaws key.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
insert-numpad3 reads the status line. You may have to go into the Word settings and add word count back to the status line.
Or just use the default shortcut Brian gave.

Re: Interesting Microsoft Word Issue
Tom,
Presuming that INS+NumPad 3 used to invoke the MS-Word Word Count dialog, you could just use the Word shortcut ALT+R,W. If it didn't, I can't be of much help. I know that sometimes JAWS does its own custom thing through scripting that makes information more easily accessible, and if that's the case you were probably not getting the MS-Word Word Count dialog. But they also have had the habit, on occasion, of introducing a JAWS shortcut that is just an alternate way of invoking a native shortcut, and I hate that because it's generally unnecessary and the JAWS shortcut often saves zero, or sometimes one, keystroke over the native program command. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 20H2, Build 19042 One does not discover new lands without consenting to lose sight of the shore for a very long time. ~ André Gide

Jaws 2021 and text Attributes in MS Word
Leo
Hello, I’m using Jaws 2021, and since the second January update, whenever I apply some text Attribute to any text, Jaws verbalizes twice the action, for instance, if I apply underlined text to a phrase, Jaws will verbalize underline on underline on.. This happens only in a word document, it does not happen, for instance, in outlook. I’m using Microsoft Word Subscription Version 16.0.13530.20368
Is this happening to someone else?
Best, Leo Bado.

Hi Maria, Sorry for the delay as I was watching the inauguration this morning. Anyway, as long as you were getting groups.Iowe messages to that Hotmail account I would leave it. I was not getting groups.io emails to my .MSN (yes I know it’s old) account. As a result, I created an outlook account and I am now getting most of my group .io emails in that account. I have created folders under the inbox to separate out the messages I want to keep from each of the groups. I owe list that I am on. Maria, If you know how to move a message, you should be able to mark the items not as spam. In the same context menu as move, you will find some thing labeled junk (I apologize that I do not know the shortcut keys). Once you highlight junk press enter. I believe four options will appear and what you want is to select never block sender‘s domain. A dialog box will appear and all you will need to do is tap through it until you select OK. At that point all groups that I owe should stay in your inbox instead of going to the junk email folder. The other issue could be your own Internet service provider. I have an old Hotmail style email address and it will not except most groups that I owe addresses. Even if I do the above procedure, it still will not except new groups.io emails. As a result, I created another email address and most groups that I owe messages I receive go to that email without any issues. One other thought that might help you with academic papers, there is a add-on for MS Word now that is called perrl. It will help you format in the new APA and MLA required formats as well as there is a wizard for creating annotations, references, citations,
etc. Just something you may want to check out. a

Re: SPSS Statistics 27
Mark
Joyce, a link and excerpt from an interview with Glen Gordon on FSCast follows. Might that be what you are referring to? I wonder if there's a way to connect with Glen to find out if there's been some progress?
“GLEN: Well, I can actually speak to this because I’ve been interacting with someone about SPSS. And the picture unfortunately is not terribly pretty at the moment. If you run SPSS, you will notice that it appears to be extremely accessible. And I in fact went through those steps myself until you realize that you can’t actually read the output. So SPSS is statistical software. And, you know, you’ll enter samples, and you can run all sorts of statistics on them. And typically you’ll get the output in tables. The program is very accessible until you get to the output, in which case it’s not accessible at all. And we’ve tried to interact with IBM, who are the developers of SPSS now, and haven’t been able to get a lot of traction on making it more accessible.”

Zoom meeting polls with JAWS
kneuber@...
Hi,
Is anyone having trouble accessing polls in Zoom with JAWS? I can get to the poll using F6 and then tab to the question, but I cannot get the cursor to move to the options. It says I have 3 options and that I am in a list item, but the up and down arrows and or tab key will not get me to the options. Zoom seems to work so well with JAWS except the polls. Has anyone else had a problem with this?
