Annoyingly for me this behaviour of being stuck in the Tool bar occurs most often on my Nat West Bank site and tabbing around, various combinations of F6, and moving between applications does not resolve it. Refreshing the page works on most pages to resolve this but of course this has the affect of logging me out of my bank so it is most annoying then as I have to restart a multiple sequence security login again to get back to where I was. This problem appears restricted to Chrome and I might abandon it again for another browser if the problem persists.

Hi Bill,
I don't run Outlook, so this is only something to
try to see if it'll take care of what you're wanting.
Open the Settings Center while in the application
or open the default all applications Settings Center if you want to do this for
all applications.
Down arrow to, Web / HTML / PDFs closed, right arrow toopen.
Down arrow to, Reading, right arrow to open.
Down arrow to, Configure Web Verbosity Levels closed, right arrow to
open.
Down arrow to, Medium..., press the spacebar to open. Note, don't
press enter here, only use the spacebar.
Down arrow many times to, Table grid checked, and uncheck this to see if
this helps.
Now apply and okay and hope this works for you.
Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool. *My body has absorbed so much soap and disinfectant lately that when I pee it cleans the toilet.

If the detect tables does not work, another possibility
is that layout tables are causing you grief so make sure they are turned off.

One workaround option is doing a screen reader search for something you know to be somewhere in the page content itself. At least it works sometimes.

Re: Braille commands question
even without cursor routing keys, and I end up hitting the wrong one half the time anyway LOL, The Orbit is practically the dream braille device I've been imagining for almost 30 years. And, for what it is, the JFW keyboard commands for the Orbit seem to be very extensive, which is why I think some of us are a little surprised that there is a way to emulate a control+F-keys, but not the same for the Alt+F-keys.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
It certainly isn't a deal breaker for me if this can't be done as most of the time I will have a bluetooth keyboard nearby, and will probably only use my Orbibt strictly for braille reading even when it's in Remote mode. However, can anyone tell me if you can add or re-map braille display keys in JFW? Maybe there is a way to add this functionality by re-mapping a keuystroke that I'll never use, anyway? ~Ann

I want everyone to realize that the Orbit Reader was designed to be a reader rather than a display so it does not have many standard display commands. It also does not have cursor routing keys.

I can do this on a Refreshabraille 18 display, but this display has n extra key called the Aux space bar. I press this key, and dots 2 5 6, and this emulates an Alt+F4. It may have also be possible on a BrailleNote MPower, but I can't remember the exact keys that were u sed. ~Ann

Re: Select Google Chrome from desktop and stays on desktop

I did call tech support at Freedom Scientific. The guy never heard of the problem with Google Chrome. We tried a couple of things and nothing worked. Then it started to work. Then it stopped working. The tech guy talked to his supervisor. We tried a number of things. It came down to either rebooting or going in out of Chrome or pressing alt D. Guy said he didn’t know if it was Google Chrome or Jaws causing the problem. He said I will just have to work around it. A little while later the problem occured again. This time nothing I did corrected the problem. I will send an email to support. I’m pretty sure I won’t hear anything. Now is that awesome support or what?

A perfect time to get in touch with Freedom Scientific tech support. Even if the issue does lie with Chrome, you can be certain that it's probably not only you it's happened to. Getting a "critical mass" of reports is what gets the ball rolling between companies such as Freedom Scientific and Google on issues such as this.
