I don't work for Vispero. But I promise you that everyone is working. I will make several people aware of the situation right away. I have no standing with them but I know for a fact that they are all working.

Unfortunately, the message i tried to post last night was not approved, i think because it was too long. However, i covered all of this in the message. I uninstalled everything and reinstalled jaws 2020. Still, it did not load correctly. The only thing now that seems to make any sense is this grace period. It matches what is happening. The only way i think to properly test this is to uninstall the ilm authorization from the machine. However, i don't see any way to do this. You are right in that i will have to upgrade sometime, but not if i cannot resolve this problem. There is always nvda!! But i would rather stick to jaws. Sent from my gmail account.

Unfortunately, I was only given a 90 day key, as I have a full licence for jaws 2018. I wanted to try out 2020 before upgrading. Now that it is authorized, the problems began. The reason I think it is the new “grace period” authorization, is that if I set it to start at the logon screen, and don’t start it for the user, it works. Windows comes up and I can click on the shortcut with someone’s help, as I cannot see it. If I set it to start always for my user, the problem occurs. Because I installed a 90 day trial licence, now I am stuck with jaws2018 and 2020 using the same key. I was told by sight and sound, that I would have to wait the 90 days, before I could use my real authorization number. In fact, I cannot remove the ilm authorization, or at least, they said that there was no option for this.

Have you attempted a reauthorization of this version causing the problems?

Hi,
As I said, once it loads up there is no window of any kind. No system tray, taskbar etc. insert+j brings you nowhere. Insert+f11 shows the taskbar but no jaws2020. The only way to get it to load correctly is to set it to start at the logon screen, set it to start up always for my user, exit it and then restart it. I think as mentioned above, it is the new “grace period authorization”. Any way to disable this? Pat

Hi,
Where is this running, on your system tray or maybe your task bar? If you do the alt +shift keys, do you find jaws running? If not, try insert +F11 to see if on your system tray. Then if you find, you can change settings as all mentioning...

I would check jaws 2018 Settings and confirm it is not configured to start up automatically or a login. Thanks, abraham

The problem may be as I had. Both versions, 18 and 20 are fighting to load

at same time. Go into whatever version you do not want to load and correct this and be sure the version you want to load is properly set. Then I do believe this will be better...

Hi, I wasn't aware of this feature, but you could be right. Now that i think of it, it started right after i installed the temporary authorization (90 days) that i was given to try it out. That could explain why 2018 works and 2020 doesn't. If it checks while windows is loading, it could be a problem. When i stop and restart it, it is fine, but then windows is fully up at that time. Any way to disable/check/change this or something? However, it doesn't do anything till it makes internal checks and decides what context you are running in. So in my opinion it is a totally useless change which FS calls an improvement. Why don’t you give Vispero tech support a call and ask them to take a look.

I think it might be the new “grace period authorization” thing in jaws2020. I think it is starting up too quickly for windows 10. At the moment, it is authorized for 90 days using ilm. Would it make any difference if it was authorized using the internet? Would this slow down the startup enough? Is there any way to disable this new feature? Pat
