Select A Graphic.

Spencer McLean <smclean@...>

Hi:

I've been searching high and low for where, in Keyboard Manager, one changes Select A Graphic from the carpal-tunnel-inducing ctrl+insert+G -- at least on my keyboard anyway -- to something more reasonable. Select a Link/Form Field/Frame/Heading etc. are there under IE, but no Select a Graphic. Can anyone save my poor wrist by pointing me in the right direction?

Apologies if this isn't a list for such questions.

Spence

Admin: Having problems with Skype:

James Homuth

Folks,

This is the final word on this topic. Roughly translated: you have a problem
with what's said here, it goes to me privately or you find yourself
moderated.
1: This is not a JAWS issue. He was asking how to sign up for Skype, which
has nothing to do with the program's interactions with JAWS in any way,
shape or form. This is a how-to question related to the usage of a
particular program that is not relevant to its compatibility with JAWS.
2: I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Just because you use JAWS in
conjunction with a program does not a JAWS issue make. Because you use JAWS
on your computer does not mean any computer question is valid, as one person
on this thread has incorrectly stated. That's what lists like BlindTech are
for.
3: The copping of attitude stops. Right here, right now. I don't care what
your name is. You feel like getting snippy, you do it somewhere else. You
wanna do it here, I'll block you from posting until you've thought better of
your decision. Most of you are adults. Act it.

Now, kill this thread, and let's get back to mature discussion of actual,
relevant issues. Anyone has questions or complaints, I'll hear them
*off-list*.

James,
List Admin

For the uneducated.
1. your question does not relate to skype's interaction with jaws, it
related to the signing up with skype, witch is beyond the scope of this
mailing list.
2. Again, skype talking is also not a topic for this mailing list.
3. my behavior, I've seen more off topic messages on this list of the past
month, I'm surprised the moderators haven't moderated everyone of you
until
you learn to keep things on topic.

Re: Having problems with Skype:

Shane Davidson <shane@...>

For the uneducated.
1. your question does not relate to skype's interaction with jaws, it
related to the signing up with skype, witch is beyond the scope of this
mailing list.
2. Again, skype talking is also not a topic for this mailing list.
3. my behavior, I've seen more off topic messages on this list of the past
month, I'm surprised the moderators haven't moderated everyone of you until
you learn to keep things on topic.

First.
Skype account creation is done from within skype, there is no need to go to
the skype website.
secondly, skype talking has nothing to do with jaws, so take that discussion
somewhere else.

Re: Having problems with Skype:

Rosario Perez <MissRosario@...>

To whom it may concern:

Number 1, I am new to this list and I am using Jaws.

Number 2, I am also new to Skype and I really don't know how it works. I have Jaws as my screen reader and I don't know if Talking Skype has a voice. If it does, I haven't find it and I don't know how to use Skype.

This is my first time in here asking for help and I don't think that I deserve this type of treatment.

Thank you anyway for your for your answer.

Sincerely,

Miss Rosario Perez

If one or some of you have Skype can you please tell me how or what to do? I don't know if I have installed it correctly because when I go to the option's menu and go to the Skype talking on the web, I get a message saying that my browser is not supported to use Fire Fox, or Google chrome or Google chrome frame. Please, If you can help me, I will be very grateful. I am using windows XP with Jaws 11.

Sincerely,
Rosario

Re: JAWS and Safe mode in Windows

Hi, Mike.

Did you run the file? I can't find any third-party information about it.
Also, as Dave notes, the documentation mentions only Windows 7. I'm wary of
installing a little program like this into my XP registry.

Hi Curtis & Anders,

Below is the SendSpace download link for the safe mode file.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/03tej9

I checked this link before posting it, & it is still working. Hope this
helps. Take care.
Mike
