Resolution to my Jaws2020 and Outlook 2016 issues

Hello group,
With some helpful suggestions from list member Mike B. I have resolved the issue I wrote about last week Jaws was reading all types of gratuitous information in emails. Anyway Mike reminded me of the layered Jaws command (insert, spacebar, then letter Z) This puts Jaws into default mode with no altered settings I made. As soon as I did this there were no issues with reading any type email. At this point I knew somehow my settings in Jaws 2020 had become changed or corrupted in some manner. So, I exported my settings from Jaws 2019 and imported them into 2020 with the replace command rather than the merge setting. Jaws 2020 now reads emails correctly like my Jaws 2019 did. So if you find yourself having issues with Jaws all of a sudden for some unknown reason try that layered command to see if JAWS still does that in default mode. Incidentally, that keystroke is a toggle so doing it again puts you back to regular JAWS

Yeah accept I cant get the banking file in the banking grid I had to import it into the registery and my bank doesn’t show pending transactions in my stuff or at least it didn’t in mine. If it had loaded the entire file it would have had five months of transactions in the file. But that’s ok I will get this all done on Monday and reconcile it on Monday or whenever they get me my code. Its actually fun doing this tracking how much money I spend on useless stuff.

I had to call APH on the phone a few months back when I purchased Money Talks. Use the number (800) 223-1839. And you're just going to have to be patient because they don't have an online ordering system for purchasing their software.

I'm with Mario regarding Money Talks and how accessible it is. I'm not sure you can connect directly your bank online with it but if your bank allows you to download transactions in the proper format, Money Talks can import them. I do this with my credit card company every month. APH has been updating its website so try the following link to read about Money Talks:

I checked the same setting and it was disabled on this particular computer, I have no idea why or how, but it was and as soon as I enabled it all worked perfectly. Narrator, by the way, worked just fine in the Settings app, start menu and calculator, it was just Jaws which had the problem and the problem which fixed the issue had nothing to do with Jaws, but was simply a Windows setting. I mentioned this because it shows how sometimes a problem with Jaws can be extremely specific to one system and be caused by something which is directly not even related to Jaws. I am convinced that if I had wiped the system and reinstalled Windows this would have also fixed the problem, but this happened to be on the PC we use as the main register at my retail store and there is other software on this system which is not quite so easy to reinstall so for the longest time I just put up with it and used Narrator if I wanted to do something in the Settings, I hardly ever use the start menu anyways and when I needed to calculate something I'd just open up Excel instead of using the Calculator. I get the error that the gdihooks.dll is missing from my computer and to reinstall the software. I finally got it to work removing all the jaws installations and only installing a 2003 build of 2020. In the short time i have been using it, i have had nothing but trouble with it. in my opinion, freedom scientific need to put a lot more resources into their testing. it is becoming sloppy. they spend a lot of time telling everyone how good their product is, but have a good look!! all their training material is written with accessibility in mind, obviously. i would accept their standing on the fact that they cannot test for every app out there, but some of the larger ones like netflix have been given no testing at all. try plugging in a set of headfones into a del inspiron laptop. they run the realtec drivers for audio. once you plug anything into the jack, you are asked by windows, what it is, mick headfones etc. if you try to scroll down the control, you will hear things like "ms-web-****" where "****" is a number, set of letters etc. lets face it, this is basic testing. there is too much pride in being the market leader in my opinion. this will change, if they dont test more before releasing something. that is exactly what microsoft appears to do with windows. lets have windows 10, and then about 10 million updates to secure it afterwards. i really think, given the burst of technology especially in the last few years, that people such as ourselves should keep comparing the latest versions of things such as jaws, with the latest versions of free software such as nvda. pat

I, for example, had one computer where for over a year I could not use any of the Windows apps like Calculator and in addition to that Jaws would read absolutely nothing in the start menu or the Settings app. I could open Settings and when somebody checked I was told visually everything was fine, I could right arrow and down arrow and focus would move, I could press enter and whatever category I was on opened up and so on, but Jaws was absolutely silent. This was even before Jaws 2020 came out and it was like this with Jaws 2018 and Jaws 2019 and nothing I did including completely uninstalling both versions, deleting all Jaws folders and reinstalling would fix it. At the same time I had another almost identical computer at my business with very similar hardware and all worked fine. Finally I read a post somewhere where another user had the same problem and somehow they either found out or were told to check if a particular item in the group policy editor in Windows 10 Pro was enabled. I checked the same setting and it was disabled on this particular computer, I have no idea why or how, but it was and as soon as I enabled it all worked perfectly. Narrator, by the way, worked just fine in the Settings app, start menu and calculator, it was just Jaws which had the problem and the problem which fixed the issue had nothing to do with Jaws, but was simply a Windows setting. I mentioned this because it shows how sometimes a problem with Jaws can be extremely specific to one system and be caused by something which is directly not even related to Jaws. I am convinced that if I had wiped the system and reinstalled Windows this would have also fixed the problem, but this happened to be on the PC we use as the main register at my retail store and there is other software on this system which is not quite so easy to reinstall so for the longest time I just put up with it and used Narrator if I wanted to do something in the Settings, I hardly ever use the start menu anyways and when I needed to calculate something I'd just open up Excel instead of using the Calculator. This way I could work around the problem, but it was sure nice when it turned out to be such a simple fix which took me all of 30 seconds to make. I myself, only recently, had trouble with installing jaws 2020. I had an authorization problem with windows 10. Like you, i had to uninstall everything and reinstall everything. Perhaps freedom scientific should look at this version of jaws again, and take the bugs out of it. God knows what else is wrong that hasn't been discovered yet. I don't know that you would want Quickbooks - it's made by Adobe Systems, the same folks who make Quicken. QB is for small businesses and probably costs more than Quicken.

Hi, Judy. As Brian said, a Chromium browser is one that is written in a specific code (Chromium). That being said, what is also meant is that Chromium browsers, (Edge, Firefox, Waterfox, Google Chrome, etc.) have a general look and feel to them. If you use one of them, and then install and use another Chromium browser, they all seem to look and feel similar as you use them.

Whats going on with my font/ its supposed to use times new roman 12 I thought I will check my options thanks for alerting me. That should be fixed. It was on ms gothic. I did not know it looked so strange.
