Subject: Slightly Off Topic: G-mail Question

Hello, everyone.

I am trying to get my personal g-mail account to work with Windows Live Mail
on a Windows 7 laptop, but am having an interesting problem as I work with
my g-mail account.

Specifically, in my list of g-mail folders, there is a folder called "all
mail".

This appears to be an archive of some sort, that contains every e-mail I
have ever received, replies to relevant e-mails, etc., all the way back to
about 2009, when I first set up my g-mail account.

There are literally several hundred thousand e-mails in this "all mail"
folder.

I really don't need this folder, and I have tried to delete it, but with no
luck.

I also have tried going into the folder and deleting messages in groups, but
again, no luck.

It seems that G-mail is blocking this action.

Having all of these e-mails in my "all mail" folder is slowing things down
unnecessarily, and I'd like to get rid of this extra e-mail baggage.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how to accomplish this?

Do I actually have to go into my g-mail account to do this, and if so, what
exactly do I do?

Since this quiry may be considered to be "off topic" to some, please respond
to me personally at:

tombehler@...

Thanks much.

Re: Slightly Off Topic: G-mail Question

Bissett, Tom <tom.bissett@...>

I don't know specifics but I believe gmail stores everything in a folder and simply sorts and displays according to your selection e.g. inbox, sent, spam etc. I believe the all folder is just that, it displays all of your email in one view. It is very posible the gmail won't allow you to delete from this folder because you run the risk of deleting everything. You probably have to delete from the different folders / views.

Subject: Odd J9 and IE8 problem

I was forced to reinstall Windows XP a bit ago due to some corruption. I installed XP Pro SP3. I also reinstalled my JFW 9.0 version and all seem to work fine, saving for IE 8. I can go to and read most web sites, but cannot access the menu bar. When I hit the alt key, I can left arrow and hear file, edit, view and such. However, when I press a down arrow to access the menu items, I get the words context menu, but cannot keep on going and get no menu items, this is the same for every menu. My sighted partner says the drop down menus do appear, but JFW is not reading them at all. This interferes with doing many things in IE8.
I've never seen this before. I do not have the option of getting a newer version of JFW, so am rather stuck with this version.
Any help would be deeply appreciated,

Re: Proof reading scheme: announcing font size changes!

Marquette, Ed <Ed.Marquette@...>

Glad that Scheme worked; however, if you want to hear things differently, go to Settings Center and type SCHEME in the edit box. One of the results will be "MODIFY SCHEME."
You can create your own too, but there are enough that it is easier simply to modify one that is pretty close. Font change and font size changes are options. The Scheme settings are full of tab controls. So, you will need to use control tab quite a bit and listen closely to hear "tab control," but it is certainly manageable.
Now you have inspired me to check. I think the text analyzer may do also what you are looking for. If I know I'm the last person to review a document before it is printed and sent, I turn on the Proof Reading Scheme and the Text Analyzer. I know the Text Analyzer does catch font changes. I'm not sure if it catches changes in font size.
It also catches things like capitalization errors, open parenthesis without a close and the reverse, open quotes without a close, and so on.

Have you gone into your schemes and selected the proofreading scheme that
does announce styles, colors, font changes, etc.? To do this, use JAWS
Key
(desktop insert, or laptop caps lock) plus alt, plus S and keep pressing
the
letter P until you hear the proofreading scheme you want. If this does

If this does
not
work let me know and I'll try to help you as much as I possibly can.

Subject: Proof reading scheme: announcing font size changes!

Dear all,

The proof reading scheme, in word 2007, does not announce font size
changes
for me. It is announcing every other changes such as bold, italic, etc,
but
not the size changes. Any suggestion on how to check a document for
unexpected font size changes?

Thanks,

Hamid

Unfortunately if u can create new schemes I am unaware of how to do this at the present time. What version of JFW are you using, and is it updated? Perhaps someone else on the list could be more helpful. I don't know why the scheme which reads out all proof reading changes is not working for you. Are you having any other difficulty at all with JFW at present? If so, have you tried repairing JFW?

Hello,

There are 3 proof reading schemes for me:

attributes
attributes and font info
attributes, font info, colors

I tried all. None of them is announcing the font size changes. Is there a
way to create and personalize my own proof reading scheme (like profiles)?
If you have proof reading schemes other than above, can you send them to me
at hhamraz@...
